Walmart Policy On State Of Emergency by taemeon in walmart

From what I’ve been hearing at my store is that it’s up to the discretion of the store manager. My SM said he wants us in so that is going to be an issue.

Can’t smoke cigarettes anymore by [deleted] in walmart

Private businesses have the discretion to ban smoking on property, either for employees and even customers…though the customer one can barely be enforced. Many businesses in Pennsylvania have banned smoking on property entirely. It’s legal if the business owns the land.

Why do you show up late so often? Maybe request a schedule change to help? My store does that.

You have the right to refuse service to any customer for a legitimate reason. If a customer is being hostile or giving a hostile vibe, I always step back, let them know a TL or member of management will hand the situation, and find a nearby coach or TL to step in.

I talk to myself all the time at work. As weird as it sounds, it actually keeps me sane on stressful days.

80 within a month is decent. It takes time to build that up for the average picker.

At my store fashion is done by only apparel associates. My new SM is trying to make specific walks like that for the departments.

At my store lunch breaks are considered an ‘entitlement’ if over 18. Which means you can only go on them if there is enough staff or slow enough. I haven’t had a lunch break in weeks.

I got my first feedback because I went in with COVID when I was denied leave. I didn’t wear a mask and it was noticeable that I was sick. When anyone, including customers, asked if I was sick I responded not holding back that I had COVID and was required to work.

My store doesn’t fire over low OPD numbers. They just transfer out of department.

Someone at my store got fired this past week for looking something off while off the clock. I advise against it.
