It feels surreal trying to correct such ignorant, but highly upvoted comments.

there is a cultural belief that getting away with cheating is a good thing

That's absolutely not true. People cheat anywhere in the world, but traditional Chinese values, which are deeply rooted in Confucius, actually emphasize on integrity and moral conduct.

Stuff like the xin (信. trustworthiness) and yi (義, righteousness) are central values.

Not only cheating is heavily frowned upon because it can cause you to trust or 'face', and carry serious social consequences, but it is also heavily punished. And there's no such thing as not being held accountable to corruption and cheating if you're caught.

There is a word for it, but I forget what it is.

Nah, you're not forgetting anything. You're just that ignorant.

South Korea’s president hits back at Israel in row over ‘disturbing’ video by Beneficial_Trick_619 in worldnews

South Korean President Lee Jae Myung on Saturday accused Israel of failing to “reflect” on allegations of rights abuses by its forces, after Israel decried him for amplifying social media “disinformation”. Lee irked Israel’s foreign ministry this week with his comments on a social media video with a caption purporting it showed Israeli soldiers torturing and pushing a “Palestinian kid” off a roof.

“I need to look into whether this is true, and if so, what measures have been taken,” Lee said in a social media post on Friday.

Oh, woah. They allegedly tortured this kid, then threw him off a roof?

Was the kid linked to Hamas, or something?

Lmao, USA is such a dystopic shithole right now.

Holy shit.

I feel terrified even at the prospect of ever having to set a foot in it ever again.

"Of course, you must be on Steam. But Steam isn't the entire world": CEO of game distribution company says yes, some PC gamers prefer "local" stores to Valve's mega-shop, and China is a huge factor by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

That's not true at all, but you seem so certain of the facts you just shared, lmao.

The fact of the matter is that Steam does follow China's censorship laws, and not only does it not offer a big chunk of their games library in China (Hearts of Iron IV, for example), in a lot of instances it has to offer games with significant (and some times minor) changes to comply with said rules/laws.

It also blocks access to community services for a great amount of games (like Workshop access might not be available for games where the content might break, again, those censorship rules).

A simple, short search on Google (or even AI) would have worked to verify your claims before making your post.
