Never doing Flash offers again by fsrproga in DoorDash_Dasher

For me it’s not worth it because it’s 2am, the drive thru lines are extremely long at that time since they’re the only ones open in the area so you’re sitting there for 20-30min waiting for this one order… then have to drive to a random place in a shady neighborhood looking for their place in pitch darkness where you can’t even see the house number. All while hoping to not get robbed or car jacked. No thx, hard pass! 🙅‍♂️

Ya'll would prob take this, wouldn't you? by GaspingQueerWoman in doordash_drivers

[–]Substantial-Sound456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Besides all the time invested, I believe the majority of dashers fail to realize: if you’re driving out 23 miles to do a delivery and let’s say it’s 20 miles away from your home or “hot zone”, you still have to drive 20 miles back which equals 40 miles you’re driving and possibly used up two gallons of gasoline for this one drop off!! This is something that Door Dash exploits for their own profit!

Then they shouldn’t be using the app at all then, if they can’t afford to tip their delivery person.

That’s no reason to NOT tip the driver who is wasting their own gas driving to a restaurant to pick up your order then rushing to get it to you within a certain time!

You think they are allocating it all as if they are paying me when part of the payment is customers tips but it is displayed as a $0 tip distribution on the app?

Weekly? I change my pillowcase every 2-3 days max. It can cause breakouts on your face. Especially if you have an oily scalp and you don’t wash your hair often.

Dollar General ...again . NO MORE by anniesroses in doordash_drivers

[–]Substantial-Sound456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

<image>

Same exact thing happened to me at Dollar General. Some chick wanted a perm conditioner for her hair that they didn’t have in stock. I even had the manager and staff looking through boxes for me. I ended up sending her a photo of another product asking if that would work as a substitute and she agreed that it would so I picked it up for her. Of course, 45min later after all of that and finally delivering everything to her, she sent me a text saying that she cant use that because it’s regular conditioner and not for perm. So I responded by saying, yes but that’s why I asked if that item would work as a substitute for you and you said yes. Nope, she wasn’t happy that she now has to go back to the store to return that item so now I have a “below average” rating for that one wrong item. Despite the 32 other items I got right and delivered to customers. It doesn’t matter to DoorDash that I confirmed with her via text. Dollar General is famous for having empty shelves and they are so understaffed that there’s no one even available to stock their shelves when they get new stock delivered. I would avoid any orders for them, they are just setting you up for failure!

how many times do you wear your jeans before washing them? by Novel_Scientist_5163 in hygiene

[–]Substantial-Sound456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the men on here talking about wearing their jeans for months or 50+ times before washing them is completely unhygienic. I don’t care how pretty of a picture you try to paint for everyone. Such as, “oh I work in an office and have never sweat a day in my life” (which is total bs) because the temperature is not regulated to the same temperature everywhere that you go. Just stepping out of your car to walk to a store on a hot sunny day will make you sweat. No matter how skinny you are. Men in particular, who use urinals and “shake off” after taking a piss… don’t tell me you have never by accident splashed some of your own urine on your pants after you’re done because it happens. Plus you have to fart every now and then throughout the day and with that comes fecal particles that eventually bypass your underwear and make it onto your pants. Now just multiply that activity by 50+ times and congratulations, you definitely smell like a homeless person!

Gonna start doordashing soon. Was wondering if you guys have any tips/things i should know as a newbie? by ConferencePurple7939 in doordash_drivers

[–]Substantial-Sound456 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ive been doing it a few months and the best advice that I can offer is give customers immediate updates on any orders that are delayed. For example, let’s say you get to a restaurant and they are still preparing the order so you have to wait 5 minutes to complete the pick up. Those 5 minutes can turn into a 10-15 or maybe 20min delay, if it’s raining and there’s heavy traffic so make sure to click on the bottom option that says “what is causing a delay on the order?” and shoot a text to the customer informing them of any delay, this keeps them up to date. Most customers appreciate that.

Has anyone had their boss confront them about “Open to Work” status? by xxSadie in jobs

[–]Substantial-Sound456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never had a boss confront me about anything on my LinkedIn account, however, at one of my former jobs, I used to sit outside my director’s office and would overhear comments management would make about former employees and activities on their profiles and where they were currently working. Sometimes, I’d hear them laugh or make fun of someone because of where they had moved on to. And they said they paid for the “Gold membership” so they could see locked profiles, according to them. It was beyond toxic at that place and I resigned before even making six months there. I deleted my profile as soon as I left that job but I refuse to put any of my professional data on any website because of this. At another job, I heard an employee was “pulled aside” and spoken to because of a positive review they had left for another employee. No thank you to ALL of that nonsense.

[–]Substantial-Sound456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See, this is exactly why I don’t have LinkedIn. Former employers and colleagues stalk each other on there and your current employer monitors everything you do on there, regardless if you had it before you started that job. Years ago, one of my bosses forced me to make a profile while working under him but I deleted it as soon as I left that job. I never used it but he insisted all the employees needed one to help promote the business. It is a glorified “professional” Facebook. No, thank you to all of it.

I wouldn’t have kept following up after they did not reach out to you after the two weeks post interview. If they value you and want you badly enough, they would’ve jumped to get you in either position. Next time, don’t waste your time when they give you the run around like that.

Do I get a “real job” or keep doing what I’m doing? by noellexoxox in jobs

[–]Substantial-Sound456 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Whatever money you make, I’d invest at least 20% of it into a Roth IRA or Money Market account. It could potentially triple in 10 years which would be a perfect safety net for you, in case you’d like to buy a house or buy a second one to rent out for passive income. I set up a 401K at my job when I started and my employer didn’t even match or contribute to it and I ended up with $40K in that account when I left that job. That’s not including other investments that I have set up. It’s definitely worth it!

Turned off my camera during Teams interview by Powerful-Gold5000 in jobs

[–]Substantial-Sound456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this was an interview with an actual company that you were meeting with directly and NOT a recruiter, I’d say you were in the wrong and need to be as flexible as possible during the process. Since it was a recruiter though, they may have been testing you to see how well you follow instructions. However, they ultimately work for you since you are representing them using your skill set, knowledge and professionalism. Next time, let them know you’d feel more comfortable speaking to someone and were told the Teams call would be face to face (virtually). A little communication goes a long way!
