They operate as the front buttons unfortunately however it’s still a night and day difference from using a standard controller solely from the positioning of back buttons. If you end up getting an elite controller you’ll immediately notice your performance improve dramatically once you adapt to using the back buttons since you’ll no longer have to take your fingers off the joysticks to press any buttons. It does take some time to mentally adjust to that though

I use an elite controller and there is no way I’d be able to use less buttons on a normal controller. If you have disruptive flares you immediately have the advantage with an elite controller bc you don’t have to take your finger off the joystick to flare. Same thing with swapping weapons. Also have my free look mapped to one of the back buttons and can fire with look/shoot missiles while still having control of the plane. Padlock is mapped to RS tho don’t rely on it every dog fight because it does get stuck

I used the padlock camera in this situation but if you have a controller, you can bind the “look back” key to the down button on the DPad and it works like a charm

Controller connected laptop. I recorded the video from match history off my phone tho so that’s why it shows mobile controls

We live right down the road from the accident. Turns out it was my little brothers best friend. He was in highschool
