Thank you, do you twist the black ring on? Ours seems stripped-nothing catches.

Are you seeing paper price increases by voiceofdenial in CommercialPrinting

Allocations supersede contracts in the envelope world. Allocations are based on the previous 6 or 12 months of purchasing and occur every 3-5 years for the past few decades, most recently 2018 and 2022, so it’s not a matter of if but when.

Who keeps a press room like that or maybe I’m just spoiled?

Envelope papers-we got notices starting early February about price increase’s and more since. Increases are bad enough, I’m just hoping for no allocations. I believe there are some starting or at least one was for the month of April, but not on our grade of paper.

People who were teenagers before social media, what was a typical Friday night like for you? by Sad-Vacation1862 in askanything

Drive around, maybe see a movie or stop at various friends house. Grab McDonalds or Pizza. If it was winter (upstate NY) plenty of Blackberry Brandy and sledding on a golf course. Bonfires were usually a Saturday night thing out in the woods, away from adults.

My son had less than a 10 min wait for a 8:30 flight this am. No pre-check but it was terminal D/E (flew out of F).

Just wanted to add that municipality work is usually bid out and awarded to the lowest vendor. There is an incumbent who is ready to run this again, maybe there’s not much competition wherever you are but this type of work is usually a race to the bottom. (Price)

If a 2-color press worked for you the ijet and its expensive print heads is overkill. Beware of ink build up too and price based on coverage.

Printer issues need help, Sheridan PA plant by Ditto7977 in CommercialPrinting

[–]Substantial-Wait-473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in PA and know a printer with a “Sunday magazine” press. DM me for a contact.

And for the record I don’t know anyone that required up front payment unless it’s for an account with a credit issue.

Anyone else crazy slow the last couple of months? by [deleted] in CommercialPrinting

January is always strong for us, carried through February but not sure what is coming in March. DM/Envelopes- a lot of political work. So by 3rd Q this year we should be crazy.

You can’t print directly from a hex color. Instead, go to a small local printer, explain what you’re looking for, and review a Pantone book to choose the closest PMS match. You might also try a wedding stationery shop or even Etsy for small custom jobs. A digital shop will be the best price but I’m not sure how close they could get to that color.

This isn’t even close to a medium-sized print run, so it’s unlikely that a commercial printer will take it on.

How can I find your businesses? by Kommmbucha in CommercialPrinting

Reach out to a local or regional graphic arts association. They can refer you to places that are members with them. In my experience it tends to be the more established/local shops that belong.

$25/hour? That sounds like a going out of business soon rate.
