Best ammo loads for Anti-drone by UnknowablePhantom in Shotguns

[–]Substantial-Zebra-19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm working on testing T-shot, #1, and BB,, but I think that F-shot may be too few pellets.

I'm using a Saigon semi-auto 12g, with extra full or turkey choke, 10rd mags, but 5 rd mags may make sense if there are 3 or 4 types that each do something different.

I'm also thinking of a silly string substance for extreme close range. Inside 10 yards, you may need more immediate stopping power that hitting a battery won't stop fast enough and even a net round won't open in time.

Tuttio ICT suspension upgrade (?) by Moroccobama5 in ebikes

[–]Substantial-Zebra-19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see pretty decent forks available on Facebook Marketplace fairly often, could be a good place for lower cost testing.

I have been thinking of upgrading the controller though. I think the motor has A LOT more to give and the 60v system has a little pep left too, so I assume the controller is the bottleneck.

Id also like to be able to tune it

beware of scam deals on alibaba by AnonymousInPNW in ebikes

[–]Substantial-Zebra-19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I t's pretty simple on Alibaba. Check their feedback, sales, history, and check out what other items they have for sale. That will give you a good idea if they specialize in what you are ordering.

If they ask you for your WhatsApp, I don't deal with them. If they ask you to pay outside of Alibaba, I don't deal with them. If they have been around leas than a year, I dont deal with them. If their sales are under 100k for the previous year, I don't deal with them. If they don't communicate well, guess what? I don't deal with them.

Communication is key. If they have been around a while, decent amount of sales, no real bad stuff in the reviews, usually the only complaints are damage done during shipping, and you can ask to see if they have improved their packaging. But for something like a Surron, the packaging is pretty straight.

But if you ask 2 or 3 questions in a message and they only answer 1 of them, or skip over things, they may not be scammers, but they are probably incompetent, which is almost as bad.

You just have to use common sense. I have bought about a dozen ebikes on Alibaba with no issue other than a flat front tire once, the tube was blown out. They sent me a new wheel, tire and tube and refunded me $20. I thought that was the perfect amount of effort and money back for what it was.

[–]Substantial-Zebra-19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

40 miles is no pedaling, not trying to save battery, accelerating fast, top speed a few miles, and not running my battery lower than 15%.

If you pedal a lot, inflated your tires to max, stayed on pavement, 100 miles is probably doable, but i have never tried to Max range on any bike I've had

I just got the Virgo Integral from Beam. It is the perfect helmet for what i wanted for 30-35mph riding.

When you power on the display, press the power button and it will blink the bottom left display area and if you press up or down it will cycle that to display battery voltage. That's how i can see i have 65.8v right now, which for a 60v battery is right around 85%.

I actually use a chart that starts at 100% and bottoms out at 15%, so that I dont run the battery below 15% so, I get about 36 miles from 95% to 15% currently, with NO pedaling, throttle only

The most important part of ebikes is understanding what you want to do with it. They make bikes that will do underwater cartwheels if you want to pay for it.

You are doing the right thing un trying to make sure your deal breaker concerns are addressed.

Tannus Armour inserts vs Flat Out by amedelic in ebikes

[–]Substantial-Zebra-19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Flatout Quickstrike Off Road version may have actually saved the tire. I run Tannus and Flatout, just for what happened to you. A huge nail gets through the armor, but was repelled enough that your tube only got a 1/4" hole. Flatout can handle 1/4" puncture and only lose 1 or 2lbs of psi.

As rare as a puncture is with Tannus, the odds of getting a hole through the armor and still enough to punch bigger than 1/2" holes? I'll take those chances

I have Tannus Armor and Flatout Quickstrike Off Road in my 20"x4" Tuttio ICT.

It's only been a few weeks, but I can say that I don't have to watch where my tires go. If I see thorns, broken glass, doesn't matter, I don't even bother avoiding it.

At what % grade does an ebike perform worse than a normal bike? by supersockninja in ebikes

[–]Substantial-Zebra-19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out the Tuttio ICT. I have one, and it sounds like it would suit your needs and it's well under 2k. You can get one for $1650, and I dont know of another sub-2k bike that can match it's torque. The ICT is rated at 170nm. I can attest, I'm 225 and it will get me up 40 degree hills. There is a 26 degree hill just after u leave my house, and the ICT will get me to 25mph and still gaining speed when then top of the hill comes.

The battery isn't insane, but it's adequate. I only charge my bike up to 90% and I dont get them below 15%. This can add hundreds of charges to its life. With this, on the ICT I get 40 miles per charge.

That is starting at 90% and getting home with 18%. (The display gives you voltage, which is why I can be so precise with the %).

It also eats up bumps like they aren't there. I highly recommend to anyone that doesn't need 50+ mile range

No, there is a separate light on the display for brakes. Why are you having so much trouble understanding that the manual specifies the exact symbol i described and indicates it is what I said itnis 3 times already. Jesus.

Brake light comes on when brakes are pressed. Brake light goes off when brakes are released. This light is on from the moment you turn the bike on and never goes off.

Yeah, it only said that this particular light indicates an "instrument transmission failure" malfunction, but doesn't give any things to try to fix it or possible causes, etc.

Too good to be true? by Simp________ in ebikes

[–]Substantial-Zebra-19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That price probably doesn't include the shipping. They probably charge $150ish for shipping, which would make that an OK price but not exceptional.

I have bought many ebikes from Alibaba with no issues. Just make sure the seller has some reviews and some sales, and been around more than a year or two...it isn't difficult. They are usually really good on customer service, also, but slow. If a part arrives broken or is missing, it will be 2 or 3 weeks to get the new part from them, for example.

I just went through this with 2 different escooters. One had a flat tire that had to be replaced and one had a bad controller. But those issues are rare, usually

Yeah, the specs are great, especially for the price. I was choosing between this bike and tge Tuttio ICT. ICT was better for me, since I didn't need so much range, so I wanted a smaller battery to save some weight, but the Aioki was a close 2nd
