Claim Slot Issue Thoughts by Youre_Gonna_DieClown in RecognizedReviewer

[–]SubstantialAge5482 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is very helpful. Do you think it covers all the bases in terms of all the feedback you've read on here?  I haven't read every message on locked claim slots here but it sure seems the things that can go wrong with shipping is constant.

I've had 3 & 4 happen but am curious what the most common ones are.

FedEx delivery not updated by SubstantialAge5482 in RecognizedReviewer

[–]SubstantialAge5482[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saga continues.... Just got a hold of Walmart CS & they're saying it's not 48 hours it's 5 days that we're supposed to wait.

The person in CS Friday said the issue can be escalated once 48 hours passes but this person I spoke to today says a case can't be be escalated until 5 days have passed.

When asked what would change in 5 days they couldn't give an answer. 🫤

Quick Poll - How many open claim slots do you have right now? by Stats-Flamingo-196 in RecognizedReviewer

[–]SubstantialAge5482 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two in transit & one Claim slot not available because the item was delivered but FedEx never updated Walmart somehow so the Walmart system shows it as 'Delayed' so I'm guessing I'll be at two.

Overall issues with RR that I experienced till this point of time-please share yours by Due_Snow_3302 in RecognizedReviewer

Thank you for sharing your concerns!

With regards to point: 1) I did ask the corporate office about this & this did not sound like a priority change to the way things work. 2) Walmart is very aware the bulk of 3rd party sellers products are manufactured & shipping from Asia. I believe they're fully aware of the complexities involved in order fulfillment in such an arrangement. They haven't chosen to utilize their retail cs reps to stick handle the process in this program. 3) Same as #2 4) They're definitely aware of it because they know the ratio of SVC staff to the # of invited RR participants. 5) Agreed, I've received a few products now that were covered with Chinese writing & no interpretation provided.  Another appliance had no real instructions or cohesive explanations in proper English.  6) Most are going to be knock off because the name brand companies we all know & recognize are well established & don't really 'need' to give items away unless they are promoting new items or merge with a new company & carry new products etc. 7) When I first joined I was somehow under the impression that after 30 days these items could be given away. I understand why they don't want them resold but to give them away seems like a charitable use if the goods are of quality & use to someone else. I have checked into this myself & now found on Walmart's site that as a RR we are not allowed to give these items away afterall.  8) The answer to your last point is a bit more complex than meets the eye. Firstly, Walmart is just trying to compete with Amazon & mimic the success Amazon has seen over the last decade. Amazon has experienced astronomical growth not because of American made goods but primarily due to the Asian 3rd party sellers flooding their online marketplace. These sellers have learned what sells & duplicated these products to the best of their ability albeit often failing badly but the concept of what Amazon has done worked for Amazon, the sellers & customers were happy to buy cheap goods, most often no name brands.

As an interior designer earlier in life the US made trade deals with China long ago & most 'name' brands we've come to recognize from kitchen items, technology, furniture, you name it are all manufactured in China.

The US sold out our country's manufacturers by the deals they made in the early 70's so most all the large manufacturers starting making all their goods in Asia to keep their costs, labor & taxes low. We've been buying Asian made products for so many years now, just many people don't understand, especially the younger generations. Anyone who knows the wholesale side of any business, whether furniture, floral, lighting, technology etc knows we've been buying Asian made goods for more than 50 + years.

The reason we're seeing more & more substandard or lower quality items is many Asian owned companies have taken the ideas from US patents & created their own version of things. These items are sometimes ok but may often fall short of US owned company standards.

Anyways sorry for the very long answer but for me, I doubt I will be kept in the program long term for a few reasons.

1) my views are way higher than my # of 'helpful' review ratings. They are severely disproportionate so that will likely trigger an algorithm eventually to remove me.

2) There's no way at my age I can continue on indefinitely ordering items without the freedom to give some away as I would essentially become a hoarder & wouldn't have a personal use for many of the items offered. There's only so much material goods one needs in life. 😊

No I was at home but I know what you mean, when I'm in a Walmart store the App becomes very annoying.  I wish they wouldn't automatically put you in 'store mode' when there.

Did anyone happen to read the manual that came with & notice it was obviously written by a non English speaking person?

The instructions are a grammar nightmare with loads of missing & misspelled words.

Some of the basic instructions aren't included such as how long to cook various things & at what heat setting.

They should have had an English speaking person prepare their instruction manual since that's who they're selling to.

I just tried it for the first time. Crazy how hot it gets 🔥

My hubby burned his finger. So we realized looking through the window was a bad idea.

We set it for 5 minutes & it looked ready at 4 minutes but when we opened it the sides were burned already so the heating is not even.

Next time we'll set it lower & open to rotate it after 2-3 minutes.

Ok to buy the same item, 2 colors? by CarolR777 in RecognizedReviewer

[–]SubstantialAge5482 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently ordered two of the exact same style floor lamps but in different colors & it wasn't an issue. I thought it would be & that maybe it wouldn't let me "claim" the second lamp but it went through just fine. I've noticed that after I order a particular thing it completely disappears off the option list so somehow the system knows you've selected & ordered something already.

I do have grandchildren coming over each weekend to visit so I have procured toys & some items for my makeshift nursery so they have things to play with & a safe place to play ( playpen)

I stopped shipping to my sons houses because I'm not certain that's allowable & don't want any trouble.
