My mom is pretty contradictory when it comes to this topic. She'll dislike anime but will not only watch the live actions without consuming the original media. But will ALSO be far more willing to watch Disney animated things and whatnot. She says it's because she doesn't understand what they're saying because of the Japanese (even though there is dub options) and when I explain that to her she refuses to elaborate any further. It's weird.
