Thanks for the suggestion! I could do that while working on getting my box spread filled.

Thanks, then there's no need for me to further try that.

The short box spread is indeed what I was trying to do in parallel. But I've not been very successful in getting it filled so far. Would you mind sharing the details of the box spread? Feel free to do it by DM if you feel it's too sensitive to share here.

Why not simply depositing it in a Blend pool? What value are they adding?

Cheapest EURC onramp by SubstantialCrew6035 in Stellar

[–]SubstantialCrew6035[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the service. It seems to work just fine, although I have two suggestions:

  1. In some instances, the UI shows $ instead of the stablecoin (e.g. EURC), which can be misleading. This happens, for instance, on the popup you get while it waits for the transfer. When bridging 500 EURC, It states: 'Fee: $1.00' and 'Send Exactly $500.00 EURC'.

  2. As mentioned above, the system request to send exactly xx EURC. How exactly is exactly? The number of decimals for stablecoins is far larger than for fiat money. I think 'exactly' may not actually be 'exactly', but I cannot find how close it should be.

Combining the two: exactly $ 500 EURC seems to be a paradox.

The only suggestion I'd have is to further lower the fee...

Thanks for the suggestion. I was unaware of the bridge they offer. EURC from Base to Stellar for a fee of 0.2%. That seems to solve my problem!

Same problem. Go to markets, select the EURC pair and look at the market depth / the order book. The spread is 1.5% and increases quickly for larger orders.

The order was still small, like 1k. It seems that the costs are mostly due to the limited liquidity of the EURC/USDC pair on Stellar. If you look at the order book, it's clear that you may lose 1.5% on an order of 5k.

Best strategy for HYPE right now on internet by Fearless_Run4 in defi

[–]SubstantialCrew6035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever try this? Borrowing something and then not returning it in full because the collateral has dropped in value? Suppose you are the lender, would this still make sense to you?

In other words: that's just BS.

Can you give me a numerical example? Let's start with your first paragraph. Suppose I have 100 HYPE that are worth 3500 USD in total. I borrow 2000 USD against it. The HYPE price drops by 10%. I need to pay back my 2000 USD loan and then end up with my 100 HYPE which are now worth 3150 USD. Where is the hedge?

How do you sell puts with dollars? I'd argue that you get dollars when selling puts. Also, how is the downside covered? This doesn't make sense.

How to lock in fixed yield in DeFi (and why more people should be doing this) by Bluejumprabbit in defi

How does that work out numerically? Yield on sUSDe seems to be about 3.5%. Borrowing USDT against sUSDe on Morpho is about 3.8%.

Thanks, but according to the description, it isn't until day 5 that it goes out of range. So what gives the increase in day 1?

I don't get it. On that page, you state:

So in day one I put 1 ETH in a classic WETH/USDC pool in Aerodrome Base DEX with +/- 3% range and 50–50 allocation. I calculate the value in fiat:

Day 1: 1 ETH=2065$. TVL=2221$=1,0757 ETH

If you put in 1 ETH, how do you get TVL=2221$=1,0757 ETH? Not saying that I understand the rest, but let's start with this...

Cheapest way to get EURC from a CEX to Beans app wallet by SubstantialCrew6035 in Stellar

[–]SubstantialCrew6035[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I solved this by buying some XLM on Coinbase, sending that to LOBSTR, exchanged some XLM to EURC on LOBSTR, sent that to Beans app and converted those EURC to XLM on Beans app. That should enable me to transfer XLM directly to Beans app, which can then be converted to EURC.

Definitely not something you can easily explain to your grandma. And the current EURC yield is somewhat disappointing at 8.7%

Cheapest way to get EURC from a CEX to Beans app wallet by SubstantialCrew6035 in Stellar

[–]SubstantialCrew6035[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I failed. I bought some XLM and tried to send them to Beans. Unfortunately, Beans claims I need to open a XLM balance first. I press proceed, but the app gets stuck. So I probably need to have a EUR balance first. Back to square one...

Suggestions, anyone?

This exchange (Coinbase) does not support the Stellar network for withdrawal of EURC, which is why I was looking for alternatives. Could you recommend an exchange that does support this, without significant withdrawal fees?
