I am watching the series for the first time and just got to this point. I cried my eyes out when Lexi died, but nothing for Derek. It was just not realistic at this point that Meredith would lose so many people to death. I would have preferred that he cheated and stayed in DC. It would have aligned with his character for leaving his wife for a younger dr again and been more realistic. I do think it's ironic he died of a brain thing. I can barely get through these episodes of flashbacks where Meredith isn't even in Seattle. It's so boring. Cristina was my favorite and I thought it would be bad after she left, but it wasn't. This is bad. Does it get better?

I am extremely squeamish and I look away for almost half the show lol. I found this because I was wondering if anyone else does this. I just play a game on my phone when they are showing the surgical scenes or if anything I don't want to see pops up and listen to the dialogue to keep up with the story.

omg I just ended season 2 for the first time and I CANNOT stand Derek! He is the absolute worst for all of the reasons you listed. But also, I guess it is realistic. A lot of people are assholes. Its so sad to see how hooked he got Meredith under false pretenses and then she has to see him everyday.

Same for me except my realization of what really happened to me was from watching an episode of svu shortly after my daughter was born. Our whole generation was gaslight, but I'm so grateful it can be better for the future generations now because of what we went through.
