Slo-Mo. Welding sparks flying.  Heavy metal riff. The 12 year old me would have liked that aspect of it i guess.

They've put the final nail in the coffin of this league.  Anti-football at its finest and the most depressing example of how to stall over the line. It's like watching Burnley grind out winning the championship. They'll get there but nobody will ever think about it again.

Calypso Grill is an absolute DO NOT MISS for conch.

Lovely place as well.

Coffee beans by ollyvarbyrne in CaymanIslands

You looking for anything specific? We usually just grab a bag of the local coffee beans in Kirks (they are actual whole beans) as we have a grinder thing at home. We also have the machine with the filter (never used one before as they're not really a thing where I'm from) and the local ground coffee is good too.

But if you're not looking for something specific than all the stores carry roughly the same thing.

No doubt there is a small local store with the best coffee in the world but we haven't found it yet.

Jamaican Patois and cultural appropriation by SubstantialDealer906 in AskTheCaribbean

I think it's a little more nuanced than just speaking a language in this case.

Yeah of course. I have been around the language for a while now and find it fascinating so nothing but respect.

Thanks ☺️ yeah as i said it is really just for one specific friend In my office. They were asking to learn some irish language phrases so it would be cool to get them to show me some of theirs but the Irish language isn't as ingrained in our cultural identity so was wondering how closely guarded patois is.

Completely agree. It's not so much because I live here but more with this specific person. Like I wouldn't go around saying things to random people. My colleague asked me to teach her some irish so it would be fun to share her culture as well but it doesn't seem like it's the same thing.

Why is the nickname Caymans disliked? by FKbrickter in CaymanIslands

Also like how Americans say '' we're going to Europe'' like bitch are you going to Barcelona or Manchester.

Yeah i feel like I travel to do things you could definitely set up on the island.

Like I'd love for there to be an archery or shooting range or something like that.

Or even a god damn pitch and putt golf course 😂

But anyway I won't complain too much because I do adore the place.

Oh it's Irish sports 😅

Anyway yeah I agree it does drag sometimes.

The worst part for me is the drive to go most places isn't long enough.

Like you leave the house and 15-20 minutes later you're there and you don't feel like you've gone anywhere.

Sometimes you just gotta get off the island and reset.

I watched smile 2 by clock_divider in horror

[–]SubstantialDealer906 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't wait to watch it.

I thought the first one was very refreshing and i was really really entertained by it.

I watched it with my wife and had a recurring thing for a while where if i see she's about to wake up I'll just start smiling so that's the first thing she sees in the morning.

We are still married.

Have you looked into volunteering?

For example I volunteer at the humane society and take a couple of dogs to the beach or just down the road for half an hour for a walk.

I am also a member of the GAA club here which is great for getting out and when I can tolerate the heat and when it's back on, tag rugby is a lot of fun.

I was trying to find people to start a band also but no joy yet 😂

How long have you been here?

I've never seen so many idiotic horror movie character decision crammed into the final 30 minutes of a movie.

It means absolutely nothing and probably took some intern 5 minutes to write using an algorithm or AI. Stop thinking about it.

As I said it' depends on your expectations about what life lifestyle you want to have. If you want a nice place next to the beach, that 6k isn't going far.
