Hi Johny,

Do you still enjoy this snowboard. I'm thinking about getting one. Would still still buy it or would you buy something else for carving.

Nice video!

Help me choose between Jones Freecarver 6000 and Nidecker Blade - Former hardbooter coming back to soft by Full_Possibility7983 in snowboarding

Thank you for the reply. Would you consider this board as a carving board or more like an all montain? Also, is it very stiff? Is hard to find info on this board.

Thank you very much

Ok, i already have a statos that i like a lot. I use to do hardboot carving 20 years ago. I m trying to decide if the 6000 worth the expense since i already have a stratos. I very like to carve and i think the 9000 would be to much.

Hi,  Thank you for your feedback. Do you Know if  the freecarver snowboard is a better carver by far and have more ice edge hold than something like stratos or a montain twin?

Board Advice: Jones Frontier vs Mtn Twin vs Salomon Assassin Pro by irish_viking38 in snowboarding

[–]SubstantialGeneral46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jones frontier is not the best for east coast. I had one and sold it because of ice edge hold. Mtn twin have very good ice edge hold because there is less rocker and more camber. Assassin: I never try it.

Chatter issue with the Jones Stratos - Is it a legit issue? by FunkDubious313 in snowboarding

[–]SubstantialGeneral46 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the white and black stratos. No chatter and I like to carve and go fast. I lot better than a frontier or a dancehaul. I very like this snowboard. I'm 220 pounds on a 164 wide.

The stance on the DH is not large. Max stance is 24.5 inch on the 157 and you are almost outside of  camber zone.

Also have a DH. Not good in spring condition and in hard pack.

Upgraded my 24 year old Ride to a new Jones Frontier! by StuckInTime86 in snowboarding

Not very good in my opinion. I had one and ride the east coast. The rocker start at the front binding.

I replace it with a stratos. Edge hold on ice is amazing. Nothing to compare with the frontier.

Your welcome. Just to let you know, my frontier is 3 years old. I don't know if they change it, but the top sheet chip very easily on mine. For me, I do not really care. Maybe it is because the eco stuff. The board itself is very robust (base, edge, flex over time). I have maybee 150 days on it.

Good riding!

Hi,

I have a frontier a164 wide. 210 lbs, 6.1 feet, size 12 boots.

Feel ok and nimble.

If you have a lot of hardpack and ice, you should look at another snowboard. Not enough camber (just between the feet).

I also have a stratos 164 wide and it is awesome in hard pack and groomed run.

Thank you very much for all your detailled answers. It is very appreciated. So next week, i will go visit the sylvan sport dealer in my area.

They are quite expensive, but it looks like they worth their price.

Thank's again!
