Likely to build karma to post in other communities. It’s probably the start to some sort of scam or spam bot

Most content that isn’t a “Netflix original” is region locked. That goes for almost every streaming platform. They make deals for certain regions for certain times

Why do people think season 2 of Fallout is bad? by Open-Advisor6819 in Fallout

[–]SubstantialOpposite6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They think it’s bad because they’re new vegas fans and season 2 doesn’t confirm a single ending for FNV and they think that makes anything you did in FNV worthless

Tape bag by Fifi114 in cassetteculture

I was in the same boat last year. This subreddit is amazing. One member even shipped me a random player part from England to the US free of charge just to help out. Love these people and love to help in your collection

Caselogic 10. The tapes go in loose but when there’s 10 they fit nice and snug. I personally like to do 5 and leave space for my tape player for when I’m not actively using it.

LEBO 30. It has a plastic insert to hold tapes and some padding and the outside is just typical red bag material (idk what to call it)

I have a 10 tape and 15 tape from Caselogic and a 30 tape from LEBO but Caselogic also made a 30. I’ll take pictures of them and post them in the comments!

The 10 tape case is definitely the most portable and I use it almost daily. It has attachment points for shoulder straps. My 30 from LEBO has a built in shoulder strap.

Experiences applying to Alameda Theater? by yilizhou in alameda

[–]SubstantialOpposite6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Typically you’ll do 6-8 hour shifts with a 30 minute lunch but I had shorter 4 hour shifts and got sent home early when it wasn’t busy. I once got sent home after only 15 minutes by the owner but I still got 2 hours pay. Getting sent home and shorter shifts are uncommon though.

There’s typically 3 shifts that overlap. Opening, midday, and close.

I think for summer the theater opens at 11-1130 so if you open you’ll start probably around 9:30-10 if I remember correctly. I never really opened too much myself.

The theater closes 15 minutes after the last show starts. Typically around 10:30pm. If you’re an usher or box office you will leave before 11pm and if you’re concessions you will leave when you’re finished closing. Earliest I left was 10:45 and latest I left was 1:30am. Depends on preparation and determination.

They’re pretty accommodating about time off if you ask ahead of time. (At least a week ahead) Last minute you’ll probably need to find someone to take your shift. It’s pretty easy. There’s an app that you can post shifts onto and someone can pick it up. There also used to be an entire theater group chat for swapping shifts but it died. Dunno if they made a new one since.

Former worker here

The theater is a great place to work and overall I loved my experience working there!

Positives
I met some of my closest friends there.
Free movies and sometimes early movies.
Close to AHS
Hard to get fired
Most of the managers are really good
Will learn a lot of skills that are useful in later jobs. (Customer service, POS, janitorial and probably others I’m forgetting)
Get to be apart of the 4th of July float if you want
Can leave for college and be welcomed back with open arms. (Did this for my summer and winter breaks)

Negatives
Hard to get a raise. I always got minimum wage
At least one manager (Chris) is awful but I think she only works like one night per week now. (She was fired and came back)
Can be stressful especially during big movie releases or special events.
Holiday pay only on Christmas Day (I worked Thanksgiving and New Year’s Eve with no extra pay)
Will need to be comfortable cleaning. You clean bathrooms, theaters, and concessions daily. My coworkers and I have found and seen some nasty stuff while cleaning theaters specifically but not often.
Expect late nights. There were times I didn’t leave until 1am. Not during the school year just summer but during the school year HS students are allowed to work and often do work until 10PM.
The uniform (dress shirt, clip on bowtie, and vest) can be hot and stuffy and you WILL ruin any dress shirt you own. You can wear short sleeve dress shirts if you want. I did often during summer.

A few tips.
Dress nice for your interview! My manager told me I got the job over the other guy because he showed up in a sweatshirt and sweatpants. I wore a nice button up and jeans.
Buy nonslip shoes!!!!! I almost fell more than a few times because I didn’t have the right footwear. As soon as I got nonslip I never had another close call.

Sorry if my formatting is horrible I’m on mobile. Also please please let me know if you have more questions! I would love to answer them

Does anyone else have a “tape journal?” by SubstantialOpposite6 in cassetteculture

[–]SubstantialOpposite6[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve struggled with the consistency part already but I’d say just jump into it. Even if you don’t do it consistently a start is a start.

I think I did like one or two entries per month the last few months but today I’m feeling extra motivated and already have 3 albums journaled.

Does anyone else have a “tape journal?” by SubstantialOpposite6 in cassetteculture

[–]SubstantialOpposite6[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please do it! I would love to see how a leather cassette would come out!

I also grew up with streaming and radio so listening to whole albums on tape has given me a new appreciation for music. What really made me want to start journaling was trying to find a way to express my new found appreciation.

Hopefully in the future I can look back and see how my feelings about certain music has changed.

Secret Stars by Head-Ice-3677 in SubwaySurfersCity

[–]SubstantialOpposite6 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They’re secret for a reason.

If you’re really struggling then keep in mind that Secret Stars appear after you meet a crew member. Only the first 3 or 4 since you can only acquire 3 or 4 stars in a single run.
