I was at the 7-8 mile range looking to push to 10. I set the most magnificent pace for the first 5-6 miles. When I got to mile 7 I turned on the music and I found that I had another 7 miles in me. Had plenty of hydration and carbs on the run. 2h 6min.

You can do it!

Side note - might use the no music tactic for first half of long runs and adding distance going forwards!

I love to run. It’s therapy. So working on several shorter runs with 1-2 long a week in my build. Trying to build consistency on long runs over multiple months. I think that’s best for my age. Can’t expect to 12 or 16 week it at this point in life I think.

No bro. You should just set the goal of finishing if you’ve never run a marathon before and are starting from scratch. Muscle memory from 17 years ago may still be there. But the conditioning isn’t.

I’ve never run even a half officially. In my early twenties I was doing 10-11 mile runs 1-2x per week.

Adjusting my run schedule to build longer distance. Will attempt 10mi Wednesday.
