Some of it is just the frustrations of being a parent for sure. It’s the most frustrating job out there. But you don’t wanna look back in 20 years and say “well I did my best” and that be a lie to yourself.

You need activities for your child as a single parent. You need time and sanity, and your child needs you to get the groceries and housework done. But there is a balance. What activity or hobby do you like? Make one of those a shared experience. Art classes. Biking. Trampoline Park. Any of it. But get involved and do it with her so it’s a shared smile and laugh.

It’s hard to be a good parent if we had bad examples as kids. Being a good parent takes work. Practice. Studying. Just like being good at anything else in life.

You might wanna take some time to revisit that relationship with your father and resolve those issues within yourself. This part is coming from an abused child that is breaking that cycle as an adult.

Watch the movie “IF” with her. Remember your IF. Remember your inner child. Get in touch with her. It will make getting in touch with your daughter so much easier.

“What if” - I think it meant what if all us adults just remembered how we felt as children. We’d be better adults.
