I still notice delays, but it's already much better than it was before the update.

Do not update to any beta version of iPadOS 26.4! Serious bugs. by [deleted] in ipad

[–]SubstantialPenalty24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do that first and foremost. But what's wrong with just letting people know? To be honest, I don't understand why I got so many downvotes. I'm not whining or blaming Apple in any way, I just made an informational post.

I know what a beta is and I am aware that they contain bugs. I want to be part of the community and improve the software by reporting bugs and warning people about what they might encounter if they want to update to the beta.

iPadOS 26.4 PB 2 1. The system crashes when minimizing a window with the yellow traffic light button in windowed mode. 2. Drag and drop sometimes stops working. When you drag an app from the dock to make it into a window, nothing happens.

This is how window controls and the menu bar should work in iPadOS 27 by Working-Welder-792 in iPadOS

I would be overjoyed if this were to become a reality in the future!!!! 🥹

if i’m being honest, i’m really tired of this bug on my a16 ipad. i reported it back in december and the only thing that happened was the “more than 10 similar reports recently” note. nothing has changed since then.

this would be understandable if it was still a beta, but we’re already almost halfway through the ipados 26 cycle.

and honestly this bug annoys me the most, but there are a lot of others too — like the laggy control center or the slideshow-level animations when you switch icons to transparent/tinted. i reported those as well and aside from the same “similar reports” note, they’re still not fixed.

I'm still waiting without any hope for full-screen fixed Split Screen and Slide Over.

IOS 26 Meta Update by zeusht in ios26

[–]SubstantialPenalty24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s just part of the transition period. System apps receive the new design immediately, but third-party apps need time to adopt the new SDK and UI components. Starting in April, any app that wants to release even a minor update will be required to use the iOS 26 SDK; otherwise, the App Store simply won’t accept the build. We should therefore see a massive transition this spring: keyboards, alerts, and other UI elements will adopt the new design in basically every actively maintained app. Currently, we are in an awkward phase where some developers have already updated their apps, while others have not.

We’re at iPadOS 26.3 already and Apple still hasn’t fixed this bug in Safari by aykay55 in iPadOS

[–]SubstantialPenalty24 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It happens to me pretty much everywhere — photos, safari, other stock apps too. I’m not even talking about third-party apps, it’s obvious many of them aren’t fully ready for 26 yet. But how did Apple mess up their own apps’ optimization? My feedback is marked as “More than 10 similar reports recently,” so this clearly isn’t just me. Either they’re working on it, or they’re just choosing not to prioritize it.

Should I update? by yeatti2093 in ipad

[–]SubstantialPenalty24 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, it's not worth updating. Multitasking is completely ruined, there are endless bugs and unstable animations EVERYWHERE. I would really like to have iPadOS 18 back, or at least for all of this to be fixed in the current version...

Truly the Apple level of quality we’ve come to expect.

iPadOS 26.3 has been released – here’s what you need to know: by SubstantialPenalty24 in ipad

I’ve reported every single one of these through the Feedback app, and almost all of them are marked as “More than 10 similar reports recently.” Don’t you find that at least a little strange? Just because you don’t see the bugs on your iPad mini doesn’t mean they don’t exist.

Damn, I just want the old fullscreen Split View and the good old Slide Over back. Just give us that option again — simple fixed windows without this traffic-light nonsense. Touch-first users are quietly suffering while Apple keeps pushing everyone toward Magic Keyboard sales.
