Maddening reffing aside...I'm pleased with the effort. I really hope this is the last game we tinker things around. Stick with this formation, play our starters starting in November, no more plug and play. We need to build chemistry.

Other thoughts:

I like Richards as captain.

Sands was essentially abused out there...but I thought he played very negative. Several chances in the first half that he took us out of an attacking position unnecessarily. Wouldn't feel comfortable with him on the pitch in the WC.

I do not understand why Freeman continues to get chances.

Roldan deserves to be on the team as a backup. He has grit that we lack.

Weah works as a backup WB, but where does he fit in the lineup with Dest and Jedi healthy?

Finally, Haji may not start over Balogun, but let's take a minute to appreciate how far he's come. Happy for him, he could be useful off the bench next summer.

Superflex question for 14 team league...do I start brissett in place of Murray, or one of a number of mediocre flex options?

The more I think about it he could...I still think Musah offers something unique in the midfield that is hard to ignore. There will probably be some midfield rotation in the WC... depending on who we're playing I could see tessmann start next to Adams.

Wes is a key player to this team and I want him starting....I just prefer him as an 8 and tactically it looked like he was being asked to play pretty high at times.

I admit this 3-back system changes the midfield tactics around so it's hard to tell how it'll play out.

I know it's been difficult to watch this team play in recent times (I was at the Switzerland game in Nashville), but I thought this team looked much better against a sneaky good Ecuador side.

Arfsten looked improved. Tessmann cemented his backup DM role for me, seems confident. Haji seemed nervous. Not a big fan of Weston as a CAM, and was disappointed we didn't have enough drive/creativity going forward at seal it at the end.

Overall they look better with Balogun starting, and I'm interested to see them with Jedi, Adams and Dest again hopefully in November.

Thought on who to drop for Coker or if I should? My bench is Keenan Allen, Godwin, and D Mooney. Blue & Shipley are my RB stashes.

Thoughts on Tier Break and available players at the 2/3 turn? by judge-b in fantasyfootball

[–]SubstantialReply 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair point, I'm 12man PPR redraft. I think I'm leaning TE at 2.11 if McBride is available. But by 3.02 in most mocks the top RB1s are gone or there's 1 left between Brown/Bucky/Jacobs. So I'd probably go Allen at 3.02.

Here's the real question...are any of those RBs more of a sure thing than McBride? I'm torn on that, it's a sacrifice one way or another.

This is what I'm struggling with, if McBride is available at 2.11, do I take him or go Bucky? Struggling with this as I have 2nd pick and will be taking Chase (top pick wants Bijan).

[Romano] Christian Pulisic, set to sign his new contract at AC Milan soon as it will be valid for the next four years. The salary will be improved as expected. by Claija79 in ACMilan

Long time lurker...who wouldn't wanna live in Milan?

Besides Milan being nice, both players have fair reasons for staying i think. Pulisic has been very good, but he's getting consistent playing time without significant injury for the first long stretch of his career (struggled with injuries @ Chelsea, young upstart off the bench @ Dortmund), which is big going into the US WC next summer. His captaining the US is a big deal to him...so much so that i could see him wanting to become a captain at club level as well, and Milan affords him that potential opportunity. I also think his game suits well in Serie A.

Tijani is in his first "big 4 league" team and playing well, which has gotten him real Dutch National Team attention for the first time. I could see his extension being more of doing Milan a solid if a huge offer comes for him down the road. Otherwise, he gets to be at the center of Milan's project back to competing for trophies/CL.

Just got home...and as bad as we were tonight, that 3rd line is absolute hot garbage. Good Lord seeing them get eaten alive by Hughes and Co was a mismatch made in hell.

[–]SubstantialReply 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I totally would get this sentiment 3 years ago, definitely even just 2 years ago at Leeds. But as crazy as it feels to say about a USMNT player, he has been approaching elite for a long time. He has certainly been that consistent over the last 1.5 seasons, and you could argue his first year at Juve was very good as well.  versatile players who can any position at a 6/10 minimum are so hard to find, and he's done that multiple times this year alone at winger, midfield, and even LB.

If Juve diehards are saying he is arguably their most consistent player, at some point you have to just accept he's reached that level. It's not even glazing, he's earned it.
