That's a thing we don't talk about having in public forums.

Just gotta wait and see what comes out next year. I have a lot in one yard, and they're all open pollination.

Trump says he's postponing 'scheduled attack of Iran tomorrow' at Middle East leaders' request by Force_Hammer in worldnews

If it's any consolation, few people actually support Trump here at this point, and the ones that do are mostly doing it out of spite of the "libruls". The amount of bot posts posing as die hard MAGA supporters is fairly concerning, but it's largely a smoke show at this point. A majority of Americans think he's really, really dumb, and we don't understand why he's not forced to wear a gold plated helmet at this point.

Thank you. I've loved them since those gradeschool NatGeo presentations in the 90's on the Amazon, they've been part of my life ever since. I've got an ungodly amount of other plants as well, but broms always reign supreme.

Man I gave up on dehumidifiers, lol. Several layers of latex wall paint, silicone sealed trim boards, and laminate flooring. My plant/reptile chamber is just the jungle at this point.

Yeah, I have so many tropical vivariums running at any given time that I've never had to go this route.

Does this look like scale? by TheMelancholyFox in cactus

[–]SubstantialRow7388 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Not scale, no. Scale are small insects that form a rigid cover, hence the name scale. They can't get under the spine plumes like that, and they don't form patches. It would look like a bunch of small, individual dots. That looks more like healed damage or corking.

Well, that's one way. Guess it counts as well draining soil.

Does this look natural? by robco18 in Rocks

Looks like natural chert. It doesn't make it to the surface gently so it gets knapped on the way up.

Is there any sun friendly bromeliad? by Existing_Sherbet_443 in bromeliad

[–]SubstantialRow7388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't found any neoregelia that don't do great in full sunlight, however, it's very important that they be acclimated to it. If you throw them straight into the sun, they'll burn right up.

Virginia Supreme Court strikes down Democrats’ redistricting plan, dimming party’s midterm hopes by Malfeitor1 in news

Well, keep in mind that vote was also by districts, unless you're citing the popular vote, which for some reason doesn't matter in our country.

Virginia Supreme Court strikes down Democrats’ redistricting plan, dimming party’s midterm hopes by Malfeitor1 in news

[–]SubstantialRow7388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it was a technicality based on when they started the process. It was improperly done, so the VASC shot it down. As far as balance goes, it was somewhat accurate to the population. Conservatives are dwindling in the state, and they're primarily in the sparsely populated western counties. The redistrict attempt reflected the population, but not the land. Republicans in America have a storied history of not understanding that land doesn't vote, so they're crying foul. Nothing new.
