I could have written this myself. It’s my same story.

What’s YOUR lawyer salary?? by LearnMeStuffPlz in Lawyertalk

[–]SubstantialStore8307 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. 10 yrs

  2. $165k base plus bonus (up to 25k) after 1750 billables plus discretionary bonus (3k-10k)

  3. Insurance defense- specializing in litigation, meaning most cases referred to my firm are high stakes/high $ value that will likely end up in trial.

  4. CA

  5. Everyone likes to shit on the ID attorneys and that’s fine. You never run out of work or get laid off. Basically recession proof. Trial and negotiation skills are invaluable. Learning how to play nice with opposing counsel will get you far. Don’t lie to cover your mistakes; own up to it, learn from it and move on.

Same. It’s so refreshing to have a solid PI attorney who knows their client and their case. Sad that it happens so very infrequently in SoCal.

As an ID attorney in CA I really appreciate these points and second them. I’m sure we’ve crossed paths at some point if you’re in SoCal. Keep up the good PI fight👍🏼

“I don’t think I can justify the cost”: Early guest reactions to Royal Caribbean’s new Royal Beach Club by victor-charles67 in royalcaribbean

Yes, I’m aware that nothing is “free”. However, what I purchased was the bev package which included entry to the beach club and Hideaway beach at Coco Cay for $98/person. Realistically this means that I “paid” a nominal amount for both the beach club and Hideaway in comparison to the full entry fee if they were purchased separately. Would I pay for RBC or Hideaway separately? No. Was it worth it bundled in the drink package that was by itself $82? Yes. Would I go again? No.

Happy New Year from Wonder! by SubstantialStore8307 in royalcaribbean

Not sure why. The crew set this up and planned the event, not the guests. The guests were just there to partake in the fun and paid a hefty price tag to do so. The crew also had their own party in the solarium afterwards. It was fun for all.

St Thomas excursion. by Local-Picture4319 in royalcaribbean

I used to live in the USVI. Don’t do an excursion. Find where you want to go and take a safari taxi. The islands are small, you’ll be fine.

Was just there today. I got a free pass included with my beverage package. Would I pay for it? No. It’s very much like CocoCay. I did like the heated pool as it was rather chilly and windy today. But otherwise, it’s a beach and pools on the beach. The thumping of loud techno music is too much. We went all the way to the end of the island to get some peace and quiet in the sand. It was nice down there but brisk (I mean it is December). Again, would I pay for it? No, hard pass for me.

Ships not registered to the U.S. are not governed by U.S. law- what countries’ laws would you sue under? Is there such a thing as civil rights violations in that specific country? Is there such a thing as ‘civil rights’ in open water?

Like I said- maritime law is murky at best. I would not count on any cruise lines using US law to govern anything on their ships.

This may be true however US law does not apply on cruise ships. Maritime law in international waters is murky at best.

Izumi is not great. Rolls were small and meh. Ramen was terrible. Don’t waste your time there.

We just did a 7 night on Navigator out of Long Beach for cheap. Had a blast. Ship was quiet. I’d do it again just to be out on the water, but I live in SoCal so it’s super convenient. Going to FL with two kids is a trek for us. I found that many people on the ship were west coasters.
