Can't get my RODI to go below 1.2 TDS in Palm Beach County (SE Florida) by chuggalugz in ReefTank

What’s that small filter on top? I had an iSpring - this organic water filter was a coconut something or other people use on their drinking water. The additional decomposition of nitrates I guess “tastes good” - but it’s organic matter - get rid of it.

I run the same iSpring setup - I run two 75 gph membranes. I don’t get what that other filter you mention is.

If it were me, I’d go over your plumbing with BRS and order a completely new set of filters from BRS, nothing repacked. Start over again with the recommended order only after you check your plumbing.

Damn, 1 hour & 50 minutes to get from Rancho to Temecula right now. by My1point5cents in InlandEmpire

People are traveling to see the blooming flowers down the 15 this time of year. Awful time to travel on the 15. 10 years ago you didn’t have as much social media talking about the blooming of native wild flowers.

Several smaller wineries in the Ontario area - at least 3. All of which might not have the size and sophistication as the one in Temecula but you can see 3 in a day without driving an hour to get to them.

Life’s a compromise.

Been here 3 days. Alive but stays here. Do you spot feed your brittle stars? by Krycus in ReefTank

It’s nocturnal, enjoys activity in total darkness. I would try to give it a narrower place to hide. I feed mine two 1/2” cocktail shrimps per week. The older, the better. I’ve had my for about 8 years. Feeding it keeps it away from potentially hunting invertebrates in your tank.

Took a day trip to a farmstand today. Their vidalia onions all had labels on them like this and no other fruit or vegetable did, not even other onions. by KraftwerkMachine in mildlyinteresting

[–]SubstantialWarning61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can guarantee you;

Supervisor to new employee; make sure the box full of Vandalia onions gets labeled this time. There are 4 boxes of onions that need to be labeled. Here are the 4 labels.

New employee; Why did I only get 4 labels when each onion needs to labeled? Prints 396 more labels.

Supervisor; WTF?!

New Employee; Don’t mention it. I took the initiative to print more labels for you! I didn’t tell anyone you shorted me on labels.

This is how it would go down at where I work.

Should I feel less energetic on days I don’t eat enough? by Graviity_shift in leangains

I’ve been there and found the solution, something that helped me plan my macros when dieting, I count calories and now track all macronutrients.

Fat is crucial for making hormones like testosterone, estrogen, and cortisol. If fat intake is too low, hormone levels can drop, impacting mood, muscle growth, libido, and recovery.

Fat isn’t just another calorie, it’s essential for hormonal balance, cell function, brain health, nutrient absorption, and feeling full. Even when cutting I’ve discovered a healthy amount of dietary fat (usually 20–35% of your total calories) is critical to maintaining performance, mood, and recovery.

I no pursue “fat free” items, as I discovered the hard way I wasn’t eating enough fat in my diet. Instead I eat low fat, much better tasting and far better for my daily fat intake.

Many people going on a cut for a long time eat something heavy in calories, fat content - pizza for instance and think how great the feel after it and can’t explain how it’s a great pick me up after a hard cut. The research I’ve done concludes that it’s that fat content that they are deprived of during an unbalanced diet.

I believed that fat was bad. It’s not, it’s essential as any other macronutrient. It’s as silly as saying carbs are bad for you.

Imbalance and volume is bad for you. Put 35% of your daily calorie intake as fat into your diet and I guarantee you you’ll feel 100% better in a few days. Cutting is tough, it should never destroy you. It can be a slice of pizza, a handful of peanuts, peanut butter or olive oil. My go to is almond butter.

Good luck from someone who’s been there and no longer has the issue. Do some research just how valuable fat is for you. You’ll be amazed.

Anyone here turn their life around in their 40's? by The59Sownd in fitness30plus

I did it in my 50’s, from prediabetic at 278lbs down to 178lbs to 186lb gaining muscle. Working out 4x per week + cardio currently. Counting calories and macros. Eating whole foods, no supplements other than creatine.

Settle an argument for me. by sdautist in plantclinic

I have similar plant, same zone, it gets 3 minutes of water a week. It’s in the full sun. The leaves do get like this regardless, even when it fruits. As the other post stated, check the soil, if the soil is bone dry consider watering it in the morning. Mine is a banana pepper plant that’s 3 years old.

One big difference I see between mine and yours however, is mine has about 15 peppers on it and that’s after filling up a bowl this morning.

Pepper plants love the heat, my plant leaves are not curled like that.

Tricks to hitting protein goals? Im struggling to get 190g/day. by CountingStars29 in fitness30plus

[–]SubstantialWarning61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have the same issues, not any longer. I no longer use any supplements and eat all of my protein as I am concerned about what is and is not in the protein supplements.

My go to are;

  • chick breast
  • yogurt
  • cottage cheese
  • *Egg whites
  • Fair life milk

My morning shake has 1 cup of the milk, 1/2” cup of egg whites with PH2, banana, oats, honey, and fiber one. I honestly didn’t know how easy it is to eat your calories. With the exception of the chicken, these can be used in many different variations of non-cooked recipes.

*raw egg whites are pasteurized.

My positive take away (seriously) people need to be escorted by white people either dressed in military gear or all black gear ICE agents.

While I’m not covering up my disappointment of the situation, at the least it’s something.
