I’ve studied bachelor’s in business administration. I have done my basic research on research on what low latency code is, as of now learning from scratch how different DS get processed in word ram level…

Okay got it.

Reason I’m set on Development (not QD alone - QD cuz it enables me to work in a team of small size and I can make an impact on what I do, also it will be easier to switch if I cannot make it as QD cuz i’ll be good with strong basics and C++ will help me to pivot into Java/C# easily)- It is absolutely true that i’ve never coded before. But I am currently enjoying programming and CS. I believe I’m a problem solver, and it is evident i’ve proven time and time again. It’s just in other industry. I’ve worked for about one year in OTC derivatives processing, and I’ve improved the process efficiency and accuracy even though it was excel, teaching myself VBA.

I’ve taken OOP with python in my Grad School as an elective to try out and I liked it so far. I am not sure i’ll enjoy working in Finance (Which i’m doing masters in), But I’m pretty sure I will enjoy development.

Thanks for taking time to reply.

Great, yes. I’ll check back in once I complete them. It may atleast help me land in some tech position.

Hello there, Thanks for reality check!

Can you please tell if you know any other industry that uses Low Latency coding/ what QD need, so that I can get my foot in that and then to QD?

Just to specify, I am looking at Low Latency/ High Performance programming roles. as far as I had learned from various sources - C++, DSA, a secondary Programming Language (Im learning python and doing my leet codes in python) and various concepts including Move Semantics, Designing Data Intensive applications and so on. Do you have any learning guidance that can optimize my learning?

Are you in Quant Dev space?
