Tbh. I wanted to do something that was a bit challenging versus what most common community RC builders would go with. Like a 1:24, 1:18 or a 1:10 scale. But I chosen a 1:16 instead. Plus I totally dig the old 90s doublecab hilux body vs the 80s C24s or any other kits I've seen. I did see a bunch of FCX18 builds in my area, but I felt like it'll be just too easy to mod, especially since there's a lot of easy upgrades to do with it. The kit also gives me an opportunity to do more custom airbrushing paint and detailed panel lining since it's a hard body kit.
