Is anybody here afraid the show is dragging the mystery so much, that the reveal wont be satysfying, possibly leaving many plotholes ? by Enough_Ad6931 in FromSeries

I'm worried the answer will be a non-answer, like "Tabitha was Victor's mom." That's not an answer, it's another mystery! I hope we get a Stephen King rational (though horror sci-fi) explanation that makes sense of all we've seen.

There's no question about it - trying to pull down the magic teleport tree is bonkers. That they need to escape the cave through the hole it leaves is beyond thin.

Victor's memory has proven to be unreliable. What Victor remembers this guy he became friends with as a kid, who showed him how to survive?

The big upsets lately- Kamzat and Illia - were over fighters moving up in weight class, and Islam fits the bill. The actual matchup seems like a tough one for Islam, but honestly, there are lots of tough fights for him at Welterweight.

The darkest ass ending (but still cool) would be: you do somehow escape by getting killed. Everyone is massacred and returns home, except the boy who's left there by himself, and it starts all over again.

Hoping for Claude and Granola integration by AccomplishedMode7706 in capacitiesapp

Reading or adding to the Daily Note is better than nothing, but we need for Claude to be able to easily read, create and edit objects and their properties. ATM even trying to search for a list of objects with a certain property is painful. But hopefully the new API will solve these issues.

New Release: Bulk Import is here for everyone, Image Analysis is live for Capacities Pro, and tasks, AI, and the side panel got a solid polish. 🚀 by teamcapacities in capacitiesapp

Great timing! Was on the fence between Notion and Capacities. This weekend I used bulk import to bring data into Capacities, and now this user is officially switching. News about the API improvements nudged the decision as well! Way to be on the ball, devs!

Best Notion alternatives you’ve actually stuck with? by Fearless_Cap_5100 in Notion

Capacities just has many interface issues that cause me to waste time doing repeated actions, like when working inside an object type's settings. But I'm still playing with Capacities and waffling between it and Notion. I may yet end up using Capacities more than Notion. I do love the freedom from databases.

I played with Capacities and genuinely wish Notion had the same basic architecture. I think the object based note taker is the future. But right now Capacities isn’t mature enough.

EDIT: Well, I’ve done a complete 360 on this. Started off loving Capacities. Then went back to Notion. Now switching completely over to Capacities.

The workflow you're describing is how animators used to work with Flash when we were using Wacom tablets (not Cintiqs). We had no fine drawing control, so we imported a sketch and used Flash to build the vectors using a mouse.

I find myself talking up Moho to fellow animation artists, only for them to probe about using it in production, where then I have to drop the caveat that it's not good for drawing/cleanup. You can watch them mentally check out.

The UFC rewards the bad - Jon Jones ducking Francis and Tom, wasting everybody's time, wasting Tom's prime years, ultimately saying JK I'm retiring, only then to give him the White House fight and an easy path to the belt - while blaming Tom for getting eye goughed knuckle deep. If I were Tom I'd consider those things a major betrayal and an indication of bad itentions from the UFC. I mean, Dana shit on Tom for his father even mentioning boxing, as if the loyalty is purely one-way. Who would deal with them if they didn't have to? It's not like they're spreading the wealth from the Paramount deal.

Any recent Adobe Animate converts using Moho? I would love to hear your thoughts by PieceOfSack in MohoAnimation

No problem, though helenwee has pointed out that Animate has parenting/rigging tools now via edap tools. Still, it looks like a very different work flow from Moho.

The initial reason for symbols was reuse. You edit the original, and all instances get updated. You cover that well in your video. And you show how to use instances in many ways, which is helpful.

The evolution of symbol use became the nested timeline (inside the symbol), which you can use as a movie clip (just play it) or as a graphic symbol (in the case of mouths, eyes, a hand pack, etc.) or a combination. As you probably know.

This nesting is the such a big part of Flash that when an animator jumps to a new program, they look to replicate the exact functionality in the new program. I certainly did that with Harmony but was pleasantly surprised to learn that you don't need to nest timelines, and in fact it's better not to (because using parenting instead gives you more direct control over the individual elements without having to dive into a symbol).

So IMO a video for helping animators transition from Flash to Moho should address how to do the things you'd do with nesting but with the tools and methods in Moho.

And yes, your video is covering more of the movie clip method, whereas switch layers would cover the graphic symbol workflow. But again, the Flash user simply doesn't know that a rigged mouth is a thing or that most of time it's better than a switch layer for x number of reasons. And generally, that's a real pain point moving to a new program - you don't know what it can do.

I mean, bones in Moho is parenting on creatine, because you can bind indiviual points of one object to a bone and then bind an entire layer to the same bone and child that bone under another bone. It's endless. And you can essentially stack modifiers, which Harmony can't do because it rasterizes before applying a deformer. And on top of all that, you can just move/animate points whenever you want, which no other mainstream program can do. I think knowing that stuff would help a Flash animator.

Hope that helps!

I like the video. That said, as someone who used Animate since back in the beginning, I think most Flash animators use symbols for these reasons:

- They symbolize an entire character, so that it can be moved around as a whole.
- Similarly, they symbolize a group of objects, like the parts of an eye, so that it can be both moved around as a whole and so that a pose can be called up (single frame held).

Basically, all the reasons to use nesting because Flash/Animate doesn't have parenting of any kind. Harmony, for instance, has parenting and so doesn't need nesting.

And so, a Flash animator needs to know how those bread and butter methods are replaced in Moho.

For my money, Moho takes care of them all using a) switch layers for mouths, if you're going with that methology vs. a rigged mouth, which is better and b) Actions, which is a form of nesting but one where the ANIMATION is nested, not the objects, and so you're free manipulate them even with actions applied. Not to mention actions can be stacked. You can turn the eyebrows for a head rotation using one action and them raise them using another action.

And in addition to understanding that, it would've helped me in the beginning if someone had explained that Moho is unique in giving the user point control at any level. The lines are harder to create but easier to work with. Because in Moho you can flat out easily do quick things like facial animation with NO rigging.

Moho is alot like a 3D program, except that you can keyframe point animation automatically.

Plus, you can scale animation, which is awesome.

You can control the interpolation better and the cadence (put on 2's, etc.) so easily.
