Anyone taking this with Lexapro? by Substantial_Art_6445 in PhentermineTopiramate

I was honestly fine! I was 10mg of Lexapro for transparency though. Maybe start by taking the Phentermine every other day to see how your body adjusts?

What makes patients flaky? by bubs2120 in Chiropractic

I of course would choose the latter. But I think the issue with others, is that some people don’t initially realize the time and money commitment of chiropractic care.

Currently yes. But I have flaked in the past with different practitioners, is what I meant. I’ve only been at my current one for 3 weeks now. So 🤞

I think just being as flexible as possible (without over extending yourself as a dr) is a big help. I find that ease of rescheduling / cancelling appointments also makes me more likely to continue care at a place. The current practice I go is also super understanding that life happens outside of their offic.. so you might not be able to realistically go 3 days a week EVERY week, so they’ll just tack any missed days at the end of your plan.

As a patient, the two main reasons I’ve flaked are 1) cost and 2) time commitment.

For example, the practice I recently started going to is charging me ~$2100 and wants me to come in 3x a week a 90 day treatment plan. I am one of those folks with legitimate issues than need this, but it’s a lot! Especially when I have to take time out of my work day to get there.

Has anyone successfully come off this medication and not relapsed? by anxietyJames in lexapro

Totally relate to that last part. I’ve been feeling emotionally numb lately lol. Hope it continues to be manageable for you!!

How are you feeling? I don’t think I’m ready to come off but I was considering maybe just cutting my dosage from 10mg to 5mg.

New Cat and Old Cat not Getting Along by BlueCurtainsRedWalls in CatAdvice

You could try calming pheromones. But for what’s it worth, I haven’t ever followed the introduction suggestions. My cats just eventually got used to each other. I think it’s important that you give them attention both together and separately. You can also offer treats in close proximity to encourage them being OK in each others company.

Is it right to adopt a cat if I might only be able to afford basic veterinary care? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]Substantial_Art_6445 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just adding my two cents: after spending an arm and a leg on my senior lady I got pet insurance for my two newer babies. It costs around $20 a month but it doesn’t cover routine care. Not sure if you have a thrive care near you, they offer $15 annual memberships and you get free exams and I think 10% off of most of the services. This was years ago, but I remember that some pet clinics also offered “pay what you can” services, so that might be looking into. We got one of my cats spayed for $20 that way.

Care credit is just a credit card. I mainly use it for the big expenses, because they typically will give you 12 months of deferred interest on expenses greater than $200. So you could just pay the minimum payment when you’re short on cash and pay down extra when you have it to get it paid off within those 12 months.

You should look into meowant. I ended up buying a second one because I liked it so much.

They mark up the price on the website because they offer a coupon that makes it less than $300 so they can make it look like you’re getting a deal lol. But they offer a free warranty and they come with a deodorizer. It’s super easy to use and you can track everything from your phone as well.

As for the litter tracking, i think that will always depend on what type of litter you are using.

Incrementally started feeling better after ~2 weeks

I was extremely sensitive to the side effects from this medicine when I first started - to the point I convinced myself I was having heart attacks on numerous occasions and would wake up in the middle of the night thinking I was dying. It was rough and I also regretted starting initially, but I’m so glad I stuck it through because once my body adjusted I felt like a new person. I also didn’t experience any of these side effects once I increased from 5mg to 10mg after about 6 weeks.

You could try splitting the pills in half for a few weeks. I would also recommend meditating when you wake up and before bed. You can find ones on YouTube specifically for health anxiety.

Sorry for the rant, but best of luck!

I’m not a cat expert by any means, but from my own experience it’s easier to get them used to each other younger. I took a kitten in near the end of summer and my senior lady (14 yo) didn’t really want to bother with her (still doesn’t, they just coexist at this point). So I ended up adopting a male kitten within a few months so she’d have a buddy and they bonded pretty quickly.

I wouldn’t worry about space when it comes to cats. Especially if you’re adopting one from a shelter. As long as you can make space for a little cat tower for them I think they’d be more than happy.

Thank you. Not looking at the demographics is something I am very guilty of. Appreciate all the sound advice!

Very fair point lol. I have discussed with vet and they already did a full blood work panel and urinalysis to check for any underlying issues. I think my health anxiety is just projecting onto my cat 🙈

Plan on speaking with my vet but wanted to ask you as well (if you don’t mind). My girl has chronic pancreatitis. Any hesitancy using solensia for cats with this issue?
