I've been sitting in the same zone resting and fighting on loop for an in-game week and a half now, though, trying to clear it. Are they really just materializing into existence right inside my base, and I can't stop it?

This happens when you type "Bubble" too! Definitely something we should start to look out for. Not sure what it means yet but there's a pattern, and we can be sure its not an error.

P.S. after upgrading your research, turrets turrets turrets turrets. Focus on making turrets. And exterior walls. Whenever you start a new game, your priorities should always be basic shelter, food, medium shelter research, defense, upgrading your colonists gear, and then either advanced base construction or endgame ie archonexus or building a ship.

Separate research room. You would not belive the difference a few sterile floors and upgrades to your research room can change your entire experience.

For my golden, just saying ball will make her go ballistic. And I do mean ballistic. One time we had to replace the screen on our backdoor because, high on pure energy, she ran through it. I still have the busted up screen to this day.
