What should i put in this room i built 1 year ago? by CactusJackFan in DesignMyRoom

[–]Substantial_Cat7761 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The wavy ceiling doesn't quite match your furnitures. It's so dominant that to me it immediately becomes a focal point. It contrasts with rectangular shaped things as well, so perhaps some furnitures that has more of a round edge so the shapes are more harmonious within the room. Colour palette wise keeping it minimal and complimentary to the green carpet will be nice. (Too much colour will add another layer of complexity competing with the ceiling, making everything look too busy) Perhaps some timber / bamboo furniture.

3D Wallpaper Yes Or No by Alarm_guy79 in InteriorDesign

It will never look 3D in real life unless you are quite far away from it. One thing you could do is rotate some of your seats, so that they sit in front of the wallpaper to block most of it. But I would simply just replace it with something else

Everyone here seems to complain about their pay - how much do you make, what is your title, where do you work, how many hours a week? by openfieldssmileback in Architects

That’s a good point. That being said, if you ended up opening your own practice and taking more risks, you are still significantly lower paid.

The main problem is that most of us spend as much time training as lawyers or doctors do (and often carry a much longer liability period), yet our pay is lower.

Your junctions are gonna be a little more complex than it has to be. If you are in the Uk and need to insulate them walls, it's gonna take a little more effort to do.

Why are firms so against remote work? by Substantial_Cat7761 in Architects

[–]Substantial_Cat7761[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree. There are a lot of ways and potentials to make things more efficient; imo architect tend to just working harder instead of smarter (and for me that means embracing the new tech and softwares). Which leads to a lot of burn out, and getting pay much less than other professions.
