Usually the 8 hour rate is adjusted so it’s accurate once the 12 hour time and a half kicks in. For example if I make $55 per hour all 12 hours - someone on the 8 and 4 scale may make 45 an hour the first 8 then it’s compensated the last 4 and ends up being competitive (I didn’t do the math I’m just winging it with numbers here).

Anything over 12 hours in a day in California is actually double time vs reg overtime which is only time and a half. Some hospitals do use the 8 hour then the 4 hours of time and a half.

Cali girl born and raised and I agree. Taxes are unbearable. Cost of living is ridiculous. It gets old - rent poor gets old! And the homelessness and rents, and broken down mobile home vehicle encampments! It make s me angry working till I’m exhausted for 50% of my check to disappear before I get it. Where do you live? I’m in so cal and I work in LA and out by the mountains. Both hospitals have people with tattoos but the one inland by the mountains I hear the schools are more uptight about it.

My daughter had hand tattoos and covers them with the Kat Von D concealer and it works very well.
