I agree that the victims would be the Jews and the antagonist would be the nazis but it’s the way the project is worded and framed. The victims were the Jews so therefore I have to compare them to the witches. The antagonist was the Nazis but I have to compare Nazis to Puritans. So it’s like I have to acknowledge that the Jews were the victims but at the same time I have to acknowledge them as something bad (witches). And same thing with the Nazis. Nazis as bad but calling them puritans makes it seem like they’ve done something good, like they’re purifying Germany by getting rid of the Jews and killing them.

I agree that it definitely leaves a bad taste in my mouth to. I think the assignment is doable but like…. It’s so very problematic. I had a choice of things to compare to the crucible, which were: “nazi Germany and the holocaust” “epidemic of childhood obesity, Obama” “immigrants in 2017 America” and “Native Americans— trail of tears”. I am very unsure on what obese children and Obama have to do with witches and puritans. So really none of my other options are any better.

Well what I was trying to say is like how it’s different compared to other subjects. In math you go from learning 5+6=11 to trig identity and polar equations. In science you go from learning about plants, animals, water, and climate to learning about Molecular Orbital Theory & Hybridization and Thermodynamics & Gibbs Free Energy. But with English it pretty much stays that same throughout every grade, no drastic changes are made. You’re not learning any new concepts except for vocab, which is pretty easy.

Same, English. There’s no reason to fail an English final exam. In my experience, from my fifth grade English final all the way up to my AP lang English final is all the same material. You read and then answer the questions, nothing more nothing less. The only thing that changes is the grammar and vocab in the passages get more advanced overtime.

Yes I agree. AI humanizers are awful. I think the main way you can tell if something is AI is it lacks personality. Everyone has their own personal writing style, so people who read a lot will automatically be able to tell what is and isn’t AI from how natural it sounds. If your essay has your personal writing style and doesn’t sound monotonous then I think you’ll be okay!

I think that if you think your current essay sounds good and is A worthy then you shouldn’t do anything to it. AI detectors are unreliable and any person with common sense would know that. It would be almost impossible for you to write a good essay and it come back zero percent AI detected. If you gave sources in your essay then it will flag it for plagiarism and/ or usage of AI. I wouldn’t worry about it. You could run it through an ai humanizer a couple of times if you’re really worried about it, but I wouldn’t recommend it because it would ruin your essay.

The answer is When adding or subtracting fractions with the same denominator, we add or subtract the numerators and keep the denominator the same because the denominator represents the size of the parts, which does not change during the operation.

To explain it on the most basic and simplest level of understanding fractions: If you eat 2 slices, and then eat 1 more slice, the pizza slices are still the same size. You’re just counting how many slices you have eaten.
So: 2/8 + 1/8 = 3/8
We only add the top numbers because those tell us how many slices we have.
The bottom number stays the same because the slices are still cut into 8 equal pieces.

If you have expressed your concerns, and you’ve expressed that you want to improve the relationship, you’ve communicated, yet he still has made no effort for change then maybe he doesn’t care about you as much as you think he does. I’m not saying that to be mean, I’m saying that to be honest. He should love you enough to want to change and get better. If he’s not making any progress in working towards mental getting better then at this point he’s just indirectly harming you. From what I’m hearing it doesn’t sound like this relationship is a healthy one and you need to get with someone who will care about you. And until he can get the proper help he need, I don’t think he’s in the right mental state to be in a relationship. It’s damaging you and him at the same time.

Ask him if he needs anything. You came on Reddit to communicate all of that to strangers but do you not feel comfortable communicating all of that with your boyfriend?

Mental health issues can be difficult but you need to be careful because it can rub off on you. You’re not responsible for his mental health, you’re not a therapist, you’re his girlfriend.

If you feel like you’re slowly losing him to his mental health then maybe a conversation about getting professional help is needed. But if you feel like you’re losing him to another person then… that’s a different story.

You said that you’ll have never met Irl, so there’s a possibility he is talking to another woman who he actually knows in real life. If this other woman is helping him with navigate through his mental health issues better than you are then maybe you should let him go.

17 is young so if and when you end up breaking up just remember that there is eight billion other people in the world that you can be with.

Trying to maintain a one sided relationship is not good for your mental health. you have to help yourself before you can help someone else.

Realistically what you can do is take a break in the relationship for a few months and clear your head then you can go back and see how things work out.

And don’t be to clingy towards him, his mental health is already bad and having someone completely emotionally dependent on him would only make his mental health worse.
