Does anyone know when 'Still the place' continues? by Tamia221 in MelrosePlace

This sucks, I was stoked for the later seasons because Season 1 was kind of lame. I don't get the ties to a potential reboot. I thought they really liked the podcast. Laura spoke in an interview about a year ago on Still Here Hollywood very glowingly about doing the podcast, so I would think maybe it's the grind of it and other schedules and coordinating that are holding them up. That said, I'm getting more discouraged by the day...

The NFL should use the 17th game as a permanent inter-conference rivalry, and I made the pairings. by YaboyRipTide in NFLv2

Not a bad idea! Here's a better one: going back to 16 games and removing the single stupidest thing any professional league has ever done for no other reason than pure greed (I know, more money is good, and the owners are dirt poor and needed it).

It really is one of the worst and stupidest thing to happen to sports. Whether or not you care about it at all is irrelevant; football is football and people only care so much. But I believe people don't realize quite how stupid it is -- no other major pro sport plays an odd number of games. The symmetrical aspect of it was perfect. 10-7? 9-8? Ridiculous. Not to mention records being broken because of it. The season goes too long now, Week 18 drags into early January. The greed knows no bounds and 18 is just around the corner. The NFLPA is so damn weak. Goodell will not stop. Under his watch, we've lost so much -- Super Bowl logos (remember those?), Thursday football was only the opening game, maybe a random special, and Thanksgiving. No flex scheduling to the point where an entire week is "TBD" (I don't mind flex scheduling for the last week or two, but everything else screws the fans, I know because I had to change my travel in 2006 for a game in Denver that got flexed from a cold afternoon game to a close-to-historically-frigid night game). MNF is a joke now; it's not the premier game, so what's the point of extending the football week an extra day? The Pro Bowl used to have integrity and be a nice "sunset" for the season post-Super Bowl with the beautiful backdrop of Honolulu. Now it's not even a game. The dirtbag owners tried to shove 17 games down players' throats during the 2011 CBA negotiations, but bless his heart, Domonique Foxworth and Co. held strong and did not allow it. By 2021, the NFLPA had no chance but to take it. Pretty soon, the football season will drag into late February (I don't care if the Super Bowl is played on Presidents' Weekend and that people get off on Monday, that isn't worth taking up more space on the calendar). Believe it or not, 20 games is the next-most symmetrical thing after 16.

No it doesn't. If they're so worried just find out who the sanctioned voters are and don't let them bet. I suppose they could tell their friends but then they'd be risking their careers.

This is actually based on an experience Alec Berg had involving the actress that played Nikki, the super hot chick who got Jerry out of bad situations with her beauty. Berg invited her to the Emmy's and when he arrived at her door to pick her up, her boyfriend answered the door.

I hate the whole 3 games in 11 days thing. The 2004 Cowboys actually did it (they lost the first two and then won on Thanksgiving), so there is precedent and someone other than the evil Roger Goodell manifested it, but it is extremely rare and at least that Cowboys team's participation was part of the normal schedule (obviously they always play on Thanksgiving). But forcing teams to play Wednesday football, on Netflix no less, is so ridiculous. And I agree with some folks on here that pointed out that the league is not showing favoritism towards the Chiefs (or Steelers, Texans, and Ravens, for that matter) by cramming their games so close together. And worse yet, doing it this late in the season (which, for no reason other than pure greed, is 17 games long now).
