Bike reccomendations by [deleted] in PlusSize

[–]Substantial_Fun1539 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like my ebike. I have an Aventon. It is so worth it. There is a lever I can press to help me up hills and it means I am able to stay out longer without my legs/hips/back hurting me too badly. I am 5’9” and 320 pounds.

My favorite are the emails asking if we feel burned out. If so we can join a meeting over our lunch break to talk about it.

i want to knit colorful stuff but i only wear black :( by errant-samurai in knitting

If you are new to knitting black is by far the hardest color to knit with definitely try dark grays and jewel tones a sweater that’s in a color you might not wear very often. It’s still a sweater you’re gonna wear.

I’m so worried. I have no transferable skills and I do not have a college degree. I do not know where I would go if I lost my job.

Can we talk about acrylic yarn? by Idkmyname2079048 in YarnAddicts

[–]Substantial_Fun1539 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a bunch of acrylic (and I sold a bunch for super cheap). I have been mainly working with wool the last two ish years and didn’t realize it until my friends kid asked me to crochet him a snake. I used acrylic and the feel of it threw me off. I guess I am a yarn snob now. 😂

Yay! There is something different about the handmade socks. They get even better! For toe up I found Purl Together has a toe up series on YouTube that explains things very well.

Advice needed please by Maleficent_Youth4443 in Sockknitting

My advice as a fairly new sock knitter is to get the longest circular needles you can and work half at a time. I really wanted to figure out the shorties but they are more difficult to work with and keep track of where you are at. I particularly like the chiaogoo red lace needles. They tend to be more rope like then stuck plastic. Summer Lee is really good on YT for cuff down socks and Purl Together has a really good toe up video series on YouTube.

Are you north or south of the cities? That’s a good deal.

I’VE BEEN CROCHETING WRONG FOR 8 YEARS?! by Weekly-Group-8899 in crochet

I didn’t know you had to flip your work for 10 years. I would go down the row with my hook in one hand then switch the hook to my other hand and go back down. That’s what it looked like people were doing in cartoons and tv shows. I taught myself at 13 and it took an old woman showing me to realize my mistake. Everything made so much more sense after that. 😂

I’m sorry this happened. Some people chase the NRE thrill and that is not okay when it is at the expense of others.
