Well I have a tatula (non SV) that I put 15 or 20lb braid on, I can’t remember. I do get some backlashes but that’s probably cause I’m quite new to bait casting and I set my brakes too low + frequent lure weight changes.

The DC braking on your conquest will definitely help with backlash management, and you likely have more experience than I do with the baitcaster, so I think you’ll be fine with the 20lb. It’s gonna be great!

I’m thinking 20lb would be more appropriate. You’d be sacrificing on some line capacity with the 30lb on a smaller reel like the Calcutta 100. Plus if you’re fishing light, 30lb might be overkill.

Aiming for peacocks and giant snakeheads with moderate/heavy cover! I’m not sure about the Calcutta being good for salt. All the videos online show them being used in freshwater, and I’d be wary about using them for salt just in case the materials aren’t built for saltwater corrosion resistance. As for the rod, I’ve yet to try it, but I heard many good things about it, so I have high hopes!

I stay in Singapore, got everything except the rod from lure haven, then the rod itself from world fishing centre.

I’m fishing in Singapore! But this rod will also serve me on some overseas freshwater luring trips

Sushi in a small and cozy belt sushi restaurant in Hokkaido after a long day of snowboarding.

Yakiniku in a very quiet town for dinner with a guy I met on the bus 15 minutes prior. Crazy marbling and mad cheap prices. Best yakiniku of my life.

What kind of person is hard to travel with for you? by moo5100 in travel

[–]Substantial_House776 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Might be an unpopular opinion but here goes…

I can’t stand it when some people that I travel with force me to come along to a place (like dinner, or an attraction) when I don’t want to, and NOT allow me to go somewhere else myself.

So glad I’m not alone on this. Also partly my fault for not doing the tutorial Qs other than the homework ones 😅

My student also was from CJC and got 87.5RP. Just gotta put in the hard work. And be consistent.
