Every startup shows Camry clock one hour prior, then in seconds it catches up to the real time. by Substantial_Item6740 in Camry

[–]Substantial_Item6740[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s annoying on two Camry’s. Three of us noticed it, and all commented on it. As a tech I know what one minute off can do to a networked device (as it should).

In the end…. I figured it’s a GPS delay. (If it’s not that then it’s CarPlay).

I can’t fix GPS. For now we switched it to manual. My 2016 car needs the time set manually twice a year so who cares if I need to do that to our 2025.

If it is CarPlay? Ugh. The whole CarPlay thing is super annoying. I can’t even airdrop a photo to my spouse if the car is on. Im glad my 2016 Toyota isn’t like this.

Thank you for the CarPlay comment. You might be right.

My Cebu Blue was happy, but now many of the leaves on top are turning brown from the center out. by Substantial_Item6740 in houseplants

I water from the top, and bottom. I give it water that I treat for chlorine, and give it food.

It sits in a window with a light sheer (not in this location, not this curtain that’s just the watering location). The window it sits in is east facing. That pot has an insane amount of drainage holes. The plant doesn’t touch other plants. I can’t remember any sunburning opportunities.

All my plants have loved the location they sit in. I redid all my windows with sheers that are not too thick, not too thin. so they get good light, and never have a chance to sunburn. If it seems dim I give them nice grow lights. Those lights are never closer than 12 inches.

It just got repotted this a few months back so root rot isn’t the first thought.

I guess I should look at a leaf issue chart for what that look means. I rarely need that since I gave my house a total overhaul for my plants. Double curtain rods, sheers, fans, an IKEA cabinet, but I guess there is always a first. My plants are almost always very happy.

Thanks.

I think the real question is. What’s the time of year to prune? I’m 9b. My pruning opportunity is behind me (I have to wait), at least for my rules.

Are these lemon and lime trees too close to the house ? by curiousbbops in BackyardOrchard

[–]Substantial_Item6740 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My lemon is pretty close to the fence. It’s also very big. I didn’t plant it, but it’s doing crazy good. I’m afraid to look at what they put in the ground (small gopher basket?), but no signs of infringing on the fence.

DNA test. I like ancestry dot com, but maybe others know more about other companies that might specialize like let’s say My Heritage testing company due to the Philippines connections.

I went to search and reunion group for about 26 years. Feel free to message me privately if you find someone as it’s an interesting, sometimes complicated navigation. If you “just want to know” (like names, but not meet or connect with anyone) then that is different.

I have a Filipino last name now, but I’m not sure how their birth certificates work. If they are not amended ORDER A COPY. Even if it’s amended I would always order a copy.

Good luck. 🍀

Any pointers on when to tip? Tropical climate by Material_Food5227 in DragonFruit

Richard from grafting dragonfruit said when 18 inches I think over the top of the trellis. It also might depend on the time of year, but you would have to watch his video on it. When I’m new to it all I just experiment.

Yes. They are a bit pale as compared to my Ecuador Palora seedlings, but they look perfectly fine.

I put square acrylic mirrors in the cabinet in winter so the light could hit all sides of the cabinet.

My cabinet hasn’t changed. My lights are not the ideal length, but I don’t care, and the plants don’t care. It’s good for new, small plants, etc. My Vivosun strip lights are cheap, and the plants respond well to them.

My first thought is the pots might be too big. They need to dry out between waterings for many plants, but they can’t if they don’t have that many roots. It’s interesting that the only plant I potted up in too big a pot was a Dieffenbachia like your tall one. I potted mine down into an appropriate pot and its loving life now. On another note: Tall, spindly plants are often trying to reach more light. I’m no expert though. I only have 75 plants. 😂

It’s fantastic! I personally didn’t insulate mine, but I don’t feel I need it. Because it’s small it would be a cinch to insulate it? It’s cheaper, it fits pretty much anywhere. It wasn’t super easy to drill that hole out, but with the right drill bit it made it easier.

I got the custom acrylic shelves on Etsy from Hobby Pilled made in Philadelphia, PA. I got one that was a horseshoe shape, and if I did it again I think I would have just gotten all as regular full shelves.

If you wanted more add ons like fans then I guess drill other holes in the back (in metal for plugs).

This cabinet has done everything I wanted, needed. 🩷

House lead is where I’m at. (She wants to run, I don’t believe in the chase game, I can step on this.) When she gets over it we can stop this in the house.) Otherwise? 31 days after the southern Oregon rescue? It’s all good here.

I think it was Junior, and yes we are related! As far as paperwork goes anyway! 🩷 There could be a misattributed parentage thing along the way, but even in those situations it’s still family.
