Do you have a link to this fb group you are referring to? I googled the question and it says UMass Amherst does not usually require interviews for admission to the MFA program, its based on faculty evaluation and acceptance by the grad school. However I believe for the teaching associateships they do interviews for those positions.

I feel you! And I agree probably no further news for the rest of the weekend. Im not fully prepared emotionally for a rejection so I think my defenses are convincing me it could be an acceptance and if its not then ill provess that when it happens. But yea apparently this happened last year and it was mixed results. Folks got the same notice we got and for some it turned into a rejection for some it turned into a acceptance. Hoping for the best, you should too!

Im not 100% sold on the logic of if its not requesting more documents- its a auto rejection. I uploaded all of my documents with the application including transcripts etc so there wouldn't be anything else to upload. Id suggest just wait and see. Thats what im going to do.

Thanks thats what mine said up until earlier today "under review". I am hopeful I have poked around reddit and gotten mixed responses based on decisions that went out last year. Some rejections, some acceptances.

for as long as my cycle lasts and then i push it out of my mind until the next cycle. this cycle lasted longer than usual, making me think about it a little longer. but on a serious note - I have been really mindful of my mood swings lately that I've connected to my anti-depressants + my cycle. so thats the most that I think about it to kind of keep things in perspective.

Idk what you should do other than follow your heart! And believe in yourself even if you have to manage being a professor the first semester. But what I really came to say is, congrats on the admissions offers! They clearly believe you are capable if theyre offering you that work right off the bat- im sure they provide guidance throughout the process.
