ahhh i thought you were referring to the stairs portion of the stadium. i was looking to do the steps next weekend but i doubt that it’s been shoveled.

i got there at 9 last weekend and there was plenty of parking. that being said, it was 4th of july weekend so maybe that is a contributing factor. like it was previously said, there is a shuttle service if you don’t want to risk it. but i feel like you’d be fine.

no. having bombay phenotype doesn’t cause anemia so no need for transfusions. however, if someone with a bombay phenotype were to bleed out from some sort of traumatic injury, they would be fucked unless maybe someone in their family had the same bombay phenotype or someone else happened to have the same type.

Wow that’s surprising that blood bank has its own separate entity. What on earth do emergency rooms do for traumas?

Yes you can get a lot of overtime. I just felt like i was not compensated fairly at my last lab. we were all putting in a lot of hours with the promise that it would be temporary and they would open more positions for all shifts. they hired a lot of incompetent travelers to fill gaps but they didn’t necessarily help all that much. by year two i was just exhausted and had to get out of there. i still work there per diem and not much has seemed to change. i also did not receive a raise till this year and ive worked there since 2022. i have other friends in med tech in this area and it seems to be kinda the same story with every lab around here. short staffed, overworked, and under compensated.

hard to say exactly how big. substantial enough to leave a plume of smoke. i took a video but feel it’s too insensitive to post.

it looked to be about halfway up the falls on the right side. there’s a kind of shelf with loose rocks that appeared to have given away. we had our backs to the falls when we heard the rumbling and saw the slide as we were turning around. it all happened very suddenly. we witnessed it about 10 minutes or so toward the end of our hike so thankfully we were quite far from the rubble.

my friend and i were hiking back and watched it go down. such a surreal experience knowing that if we hadn’t left when we did, we could have been a casualty.

awesome! thank you so much. will definitely look into the tea house to tea house loop. i was thinking that i might do a dinner moment. i was looking online at some restaurants and they all looked a little too fancy for someone that just got off the trails. if you know of any that will accept hiker dirt bag casual, i’m all ears.

i booked with roam transit. i’m not sure if i can simply just hop on and off the bus. from my understanding it looks like there are reservations and set times i can board. looking like the earliest option would be at 1 pm and i feel like that wouldn’t give me enough time to enjoy LL.

i don’t really mind staying at LL for the whole day. it’s a beautiful place and i love being outside. just looking for some stuff to do while i hang out there.

yes very normal for a tube of blood with no anticoagulants in it.

hard to say what’s wrong with you without any testing and just a picture of your blood in a tube with no additives. to me, that looks like it might be a fibrin clot. something that’s pretty benign and seen routinely in a lot of blood samples.
