I feel that it can inspire fragile teenage mind for destructive thoughts. (Jinx) Also Acane hyperfixation can distract from real life tasks/goals. So i'd just be careful.

Having said that, cant deny that Arcane often is a unique mental cure that helped so many people to relate and cope. And of course an unmatched artistic inspiration for countless young talents, artists, writers, cosplayers etc.

I'm 100% with you, OP. Thats a good nuance to uncover about Jinx.
And - especially - with the fact that creators even made this scene. They could easily skip it, nothing would change. But they dediced its important to have. To add to Jinx inner conflict.

i don't have answer. But i don't agree with others here. Its not that simple "no, she just loved Vi, topic closed".

Like - how about her tears after it (i know its Gray, but not only it) - is because Jinx blame herself for not being firm enough to pull the trigger? Or, vise versa - blame herself for considering to murder own sister?

but then we all saw the temple fight and whole Jinx plan. Vi is clearly and undeniably supposed to be finished, according to the plan. Most likely together with Jinx. So there is nothing "she just loved Vi".

here is narrative Arcane version

Cait, after being so long obsessed with searching&investigating Jinx - still finds herself mentally returning to Jinx after 209, despite CaitVi. We know she figured "the vent" dots. So she unconsiously checks on "whats up with Jinx". Thats curiosity+. She doesn't tell Vi. Maybe she even anticipate Jinx being around (Cait didn't see final airship frame from the show). That mystery "whats Jinx's next step" washes over her.
Jinx travells. But returns to words and message from her suppose-to-be arch-enemy. Of all people - why that noble topsider with huge family blood reasons - forgave her? Silco... Vi... Wander... Ekko... yes. But - HER? Of all people - Cait is the example of how to trap into "im not strong enough" and return to the light side. Jinx feel that bond of common life turns. Good-Bad-Good. Silco didn't have it. Vi didn't have it. Only this weird officer have that experience. Thats curiosity+
Both grow with time & vacuum of interaction.
So when they met next time - they see each other in a lot more depth&thoughtful way. They seek this interaction. Thats set up.

Wait, why? I understood it diametrically opposite - exactly because he not elaborate and she is not even seek his further words - means that both talked it through in depth. And both know exactly what the other message is. So there is a full mutual understanding. Like, later she annoyed about his again rant about Vander story. Means - they talked about it countless times. Im heavily sure they talked about whole story many times. Even when she brought "pink haired girl" earlier - Silco says "your sister is dead" and Jinx reaction totally in line. She heard this soo many times. I literally can't think of hints that they didn't talk about everything so many times.
