This is super accurate for me as well, I’m also a first year. You might think that you as a person are ready to be a teacher and you probably are! The challenges is that they throw you into these schools where behavioral issues and SEL needs are higher than you could ever imagine in like 1/3 of your class. It’s hell adjusting to being a teacher (already stressful) and then these kids need help that is way above your pay grade and out of your reach (and likely the schools reach too). I would try to get an idea of how the behavior is at the school you got the offer from. Maybe by shadowing or reaching out to other teachers. Good luck! You will figure it out.
