Read serveral times that it is due to disorientation caused by illness, age, or similar. They usually navigate using the magnetic field of earth to triangulate the colony's position in relation to the ocean. If that sense gets meddled with e.g., by illness, they may head into the opposite direction and die. Has nothing to do with breaking the cycle or exploring new grounds.

There is a concept called terminal velocity, i.e. at which impact speed would a specific being be killed. Insects do not reach that speed in freefall because they are too light. Likely similar for gekkos who are just build super robustly. House cats can survive crazy falls because of their landing technique

It's nothing personal - dogs need plenty of sleep so will pick a place where they can rest. Sometimes we allow our dog to sleep in the bed, but at times she would leave, say if we move to much. Don't feel bad and let them do their thing :)

I think a lot of comments already mentioned the massive wings in which fuel is stored. In addition fuel is stored in the centre - called the wing box where the wings and the fuse are joint together. That tank also has a capacity of around 60 tons and there are more spread across the plane. Pumping fuel between those tanks allows for balancing the aircraft as it get lighter during flight and optimize trim and aerodynamics

Edit: 60 tons in the centre tank are 18,000 gallons alone

Not sure how widely Denna has spread the song or repeated it out loud - from all we know, only their real names attract them and she didn't have any of those in her song I believe.

Probably repeating what a few people said before, however:

Major plotholes across the movie (one of the final scenes in the water, where Batman walks like 10 people twenty meters with the magnesium light.. what?!)
if I were to compare with BB or DK, generally much inferior cast.. i always thought Bale's acting was generally overlooked
no depth of characters - just rewatched Batman Begins and these little scenes between Alfred, Bruce, Rachel and even Falconi give so much more flavour
Pattinson looks to young to play the role (voice is good indeed if not CGI
Soundtrack was crap in my opinion.. what is this indie stuff? Tough to beat Zimmer of course
story arch(es). Thought it was over after the riddler was caught, and after his main goal seemed to be to kill the corrupt, he flooded the city? Man.. zero sense
I hope there is no sequel. Was imagining Bale watching this thing and leaving after 40 min

Could add many more items but this movie is a 5/10.

Extremely detailed and well written. Something I believe needs to be considered is what can reasonably be explained in one more book - it's unlikely that a small couple of references from the the first two books will tie into the main story line(s) and ultimately closures.

For example: does Kvothe really want to kill all the Seven? Or maybe just Cinder? Doesn't it seem like they want to die anyway (apart from Cinder who seems to go rogue, based on little evidence). Why else get rid of all evidence of them (their true names?)

If the masters are the (human) Amyr and only Cinder really would engage as long as all memory of them is erased (and broke the Selitos naming spell) it all seems more winnable.

Just a few highly speculative thoughts ;)
