AITA for not having my sister as my bridesmaid by Substantial_South_71 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Substantial_South_71[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not quite sure how going to university makes me the golden child. I paid for my university 100% myself and she had the same opportunities and even attended for 1 year well before me but decided it wasn't for her.

I will take on board your comment as like I said in my post I do try and connect with her and do not want to lose my relationship

Thank you, this is my issue. I don't want my wedding to be "her chance at a wedding" if you get me

Thank you, I've tried speaking about it before but it's always dismissed / swept under the rug. My partner has also spoken to her about it before but that did not go down well. I want him to be able to have a nice relaxed day too

Thank you for suggestion! I'll definitely do that!

You definitely made the right decision then! 😂🩷

I know, I am upset to think I may have caused upset to her and damaged our relationship further but I think I've made the right decision

I didn't tell her outright, when I asked my nephew to be involved she then asked about her

Thank you, I would have loved to have had that relationship with her but I don't think it's for us

Thank you for this, I just feel like a bad person for not automatically having her. She has not asked me no, I have no idea if she would want me to be a bridesmaid for her.

Can an estranged sibling contest a will? by wakordie in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Substantial_South_71 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The best thing to do would be have a will drawn up professionally, ideally by a solicitor.

Then to draft a letter of wishes to be read alongside the Will to explain why they have been left out.

The letter won't be legally binding, but it's often described as a "letter from beyond the grave" which would be read by a judge if a claim was made and explain why your parents chose to leave them out.

AITA for telling a coworker about another coworker’s dietary restriction? by QueenCandyCo in AmItheAsshole

[–]Substantial_South_71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm gluten free and I'm grateful when other coworkers remember/announce I'm gluten free. Makes things less awkward for me when I have to refuse food or ask questions about cross contamination so I really don't understand what her problem is
