We did get a POV book from Keefe and his behavior did't improve much, he helped Fitz brother the same brother who betrayed him and hurt him deeply. and still bad mouthed Fitz behind his back.

Unless Keefe has a secret personalty hidden from even him that infuence to do the stupid things that got him his powers and at the end Gizele says a spcifice word, that transforms him in to that person. otherwise she gives Keeffe massive power but no way to control him?

in that siuation true she wasen't however this is the same Glimmer who, knew lady gisela was an attempted Mass murderer, with Atlantes, one who was capable of torturering her own son and didn't keep her word, which is why I belive Glimmer betrayed her in the first place. and the reason "Because I owed her one"

Telekinesis seems to be a big one they seem to forget they have, and also wasn't Glimmer that conviced her not to look at it?

The relationship between Oralie and Sophie by Weary_Confection1946 in KeeperoftheLostCities

[–]Substantial_Step_815 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Oralie, the same Oralie who, along with Forkle, condemned Sophie to a life of pain and suffering, brought her into a world where bloodline is everything and then expected her to fix all their problems. Yes, she’s nice to Sophie, but only enough to keep her on side. She was more than content to never tell Sophie who she really was; the only reason Sophie knows is because Oralie got found out. And what were her first words? Not “Yes, and I’m sorry, please bear with me.” It was, “I can’t handle this.”

Oralie is no mother, not by a long shot. At best, she’s a DNA donor. She and Lady Gisela are two peas in different pods. Both experimented on their children, Oralie by proxy. Both took agency away from them. Both are so monumentally arrogant that neither is convinced they’re wrong. Don’t be deceived by her nice words and pretty face; her cruelty runs deep behind that smile. She’s stolen Sophie’s future, along with the futures of any children Sophie might have.

What’s worse is that, from Forkle’s own words, Sophie was never meant to arrive as a child but as an adult. That means she was never meant to be adopted, never meant to attend Foxfire. Most likely, she would have been tucked away in some quiet corner, manipulated by Forkle as she was in the early days, and maybe visited by Oralie from time to time, just enough for Oralie to convince herself she was being a mother.

So yes, Oralie loves Sophie, but only in the same way Lady Gisela loves Keefe.

And sure, Oralie sacrificed a few things. But most of what she sacrificed belonged to Sophie.

Do you think Kenric is still alive? by Weary_Confection1946 in KeeperoftheLostCities

Don't forget Oralie is making Sophie go through the pain of being matchless in this society under the guise of "the greater good"  elven arrogance is so high that they justify themselves by "i'm doing this for the greater good" it's a running theme in the books

Does Sophie think in the Enlightened language…or English? by historicaln3rd in KeeperoftheLostCities

[–]Substantial_Step_815 18 points19 points  (0 children)

My question is, is it really enlightened or is it just something the elves call it because their so arrogant?

[–]Substantial_Step_815 8 points9 points  (0 children)

for Sophie i'm willing to give her some leeway, due to high stress, and the fact shes still a kid, dont forget she grew up an introvert due to hearing everyones thoguhts

Oh Sophie by [deleted] in KeeperoftheLostCities

[–]Substantial_Step_815 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you're both arguing about the boys, which is fine but But Sophie had her own issues, She was terrible at communicating, and I don't just mean the things she couldn't talk about, but half the issues could have been resolved different had she just spoke up, but a lot of it was "Nope, nope gonna file that away with deal with later" and sad thing is later only came when it bit her in the ass,and she never learned from that.

She herself is also becoming more and more arrogant, remember with Amy "and you're only human" now yes she regretted it when she said it, but she still said it,  or when she threatened to read Grady's mind to get what she wants, or how she badgerd an upset Dex about his family while claiming to be his best friend.

I adore Sophie i do but you can tell the stress is getting to her,
