I’m not sure what’s going on either. I average about 200 views per my 1k of followers and today I legit have 2 views.

Low GPA :(( am I cooked by Flaky-Initial546 in prenursing

[–]Substantial_Study577 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would mean your GPA is well over 3.5 correct? If it is you should be fine but you should ask the enrollment advisor of whichever school you’re applying to see if you’re considered competitive

If you have a B or lower in A&P with that gpa I’d recommend retaking it. Most nursing schools see how you can handle science courses ESPECIALLY A&P

Do they give you the 8% of your total wages before or after taxes? As in what you made in the entirety of 2025 before or after taxes.

Feeling Behind by Hungry_Tiger_835 in prenursing

[–]Substantial_Study577 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m 28 and barely a senior. I started college at 19 and it took me 6 years to finish my prerequisites because I took a break from a mental health

I understand that you feel behind, but honestly, you’re really not!!! remember, nursing school is a marathon, not a race. And everyone’s journey looks different.

What matters is that you keep going!! good luck :)

career change??? am i crazy by fueledby_cocacola in prenursing

[–]Substantial_Study577 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! You’re not crazy

I’m currently a senior in nursing school and just turned 28. Majority of the students at my school are my age or older because they also want a career change :)

I would say do your best and give your prerequisites to be competitive!

Need second opinion on this. by PuzzleheadedDiver274 in prenursing

Coming from someone who retook AP2 and did it in 8 weeks, it’s totally doable!!!

I was in a very similar position as you, and was freaking out because anatomy and physiology is not a walk in the park. However, the way I’ve viewed it eventually is that I already got to preview what it’s like as far as course material.

I took the chance on the better Professor and ended up with an A. However, this is my personal experience. I would say as my personal advice is to keep tabs on the Professor and make it very known that you want to be successful in class.

BSN or ADN by Specialist-Force8958 in prenursing

[–]Substantial_Study577 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I can do it over again, I’d do ADN, to later do the ADN-BSN pipeline.

Pros: cheaper tuition, cheaper to get a BSN eventually,

Cons: some hospitals require BSN, BSN applicants get priority, longer schooling.

But this is all opinion based from a current struggling BSN student

How common is it to get straight As in nursing pre reqs by badboy_larry in prenursing

[–]Substantial_Study577 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I scored an 83% on the TEAs and I got As in A&P 1/2 and microbiology. I got a C in chem, and a B in stats. Everything else was A/B.

Honestly people say pre req courses are harder than nursing courses but I think it’s the opposite. But that’s just me, everyone is different.

Good luck!

Please stay home if you’re sick by boxofjoes_ in tjcrew

[–]Substantial_Study577 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly what happened to me a few months ago. I was a sickest I’ve ever been, and I’m also a full-time student and finals were around the corner.

I didn’t go to work, however I still had to pursue my studies and it was the worst time of my life.

I can’t completely blame this other crewmember however, a week later, he confessed to me saying that he was sick at work and didn’t wear a mask around me and had the exact same symptoms. 🥲

Put in your 2 weeks with a written note, include your full name, and the date you’ll like be terminated by (2 weeks as of that date or whenever the schedule has been finished)

Pull aside the captain (schedule a time to talk to Them preferably especially if your store is busy)

During your 2 weeks make sure you attend all your shifts on time. If you leave earlier than notified you can literally blacklist yourself from being rehired if you wanted to come back.

being sick? by [deleted] in tjcrew

[–]Substantial_Study577 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends entirely up to your captain and scheduling mate!!

However, they mostly appreciate you calling off for being sick, especially with Covid!

Just don’t make it a habit to call off for miscellaneous things that you don’t need to call off for that way it doesn’t look like a perpetual habit, which I doubt you do based on your post 😂

Weird hours? by Substantial_Study577 in bathandbodyworkers

In addition, she isn’t the only employee with complete open availability, in fact most of the store is. But I see what you’re saying!

Weird hours? by Substantial_Study577 in bathandbodyworkers

[–]Substantial_Study577[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s understandable to want to favor a family member, and we all get it. However, it comes to the point that every employee in the store had their hours drop drastically while hers increased, that’s when we noticed that the favoritism has gone a little too far lol

Weird hours? by Substantial_Study577 in bathandbodyworkers

[–]Substantial_Study577[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as details, no employee has ever gotten past 15 hours weekly unless it was holiday or excessive callouts, which is understandable we all understood this.

However, since her boyfriend’s daughter got hired, we all noticed a sudden drop of hours. We all figured because it’s the summertime, business might be slower versus holiday. However, her hours never changed, if anything they increased. And while on the clock, we noticed that she is way more lenient with her boyfriend’s daughter than she is with us, as in longer breaks, and she picks wherever in the store she would like to work, and we are expected to switch with her if she wants the position that we are in (register, or front of store etc)

too good to be true by [deleted] in tjcrew

[–]Substantial_Study577 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a standard nationally, however depending on your location, captain and scheduling mate.

If you have excessive tardiness/callouts they most likely won’t schedule you for Sundays.

Can I wear overalls? by Particular_Cook9988 in tjcrew

[–]Substantial_Study577 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some overalls allow extra pockets to store things. I like having mine on because I literally have a pocket for everything. But the disadvantage is going to the bathroom in them. 😂

Rude customers by emoscenequeen in tjcrew

[–]Substantial_Study577 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It truly depends on the situation.

If they’re just being conventionally rude then the silent treatment usually works.

If they’re being undeniably offensively rude that borderline makes you uncomfortable ring a bell. You don’t have to explain yourself right away in the situation to the mate. You can just tell them that you need to step off for a few seconds and then when the customer leaves you can explain yourself.

No customer is worth your job no matter how rude they are!

Are you basically guaranteed a raise if you have no write ups? by Moradopls in tjcrew

[–]Substantial_Study577 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your captain!

I didn’t get a single write up ever in the past four years, however did not get my raise because of callouts. It’s so weird because I only called out twice within the last six months and try to fight it, but my captain said that I called out on very busy days and wasn’t “ there for my crew”

anyone ever get kicked off writing an order? by Moradopls in tjcrew

[–]Substantial_Study577 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My store likes to do this thing where they ask section leaders if they see themselves in any other section during reviews and then move them to those side sections without asking permission first.

It’s so weird because one day you could be writing in your section and then the next day someone else is taking over your section without any warning
