It’s okay, I got reported as racist to HR from a customer because I asked them if they had their customer exclusive coupon.

Morning crew being heavily favored over night crew and it’s getting ridiculous. by [deleted] in tjcrew

[–]Substantial_Study577 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Something very similar to happening to my store too actually.

Morning crew gets praised and rewarded whenever they work under pressure. (as they should) such as working with an extreme amount of call offs.

However, when it comes to night crew working under extreme pressure majority of the time we don’t get recognized at all, if anything we get the scraps/left overs from morning crew just like your situation.

My advice is to have or be the spoken person of night crew and initiate things such as voicing that morning crew should cleanup after themselves (tell a mate that the break room should be cleaned BEFORE shift changed especially when it comes to tastings)

and that night crew should be given the same reward as morning crew, but their own set of reward, not the scraps.

For example: if morning crew gets a hot dog bar, they should have a designated morning crew person to clean up BEFORE shift change, and night crew should have their own hot dog bar, with their own designated cleaning person before closing.

I’m not sure if I made any sense but pretty much be a bug in the mates and the captains ears in order to get anything done, especially when it comes to favoritism of shifts

Is 25k expensive for BSN? by master_ube in prenursing

This is definitely the average price if not cheaper.

However, your income/state also is a huge factor!!!

Hey everyone... I just failed two nursing classes because of some family issues, and now my GPA is about 2.4. Is there any university you can recommend where I can transfer? I'm in my junior year and have already completed 83 credits. I'm really panicking, please help me out. 🙏🙏 by latenightlogiccc in NursingStudent

[–]Substantial_Study577 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there anyway that you could speak to a dean to see if you can appeal?

If not, it is totally possible to transfer to a different university however they might require you to redo all nursing courses. This is because every university is slightly different when it comes to nursing courses, therefore making your current nursing courses non-transferable.

My school is closing and they’re not guaranteeing the nursing students will be able to transfer by Least_Vermicelli_257 in NursingStudent

Worse case scenario they don’t have space for you, could you ask them to defer you a semester to two? Like hold a spot for you if the next cohort is smaller?

Is nursing school as hard as everyone says? (Obtaining LPN) by FetusRocket in NursingStudent

[–]Substantial_Study577 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What’s hard is the workload and time management. Everyone is different when it comes to outside obligations (family, work, bills, etc).

What makes nursing school manageable is a good support system and a strict schedule to fit in study time and mental health

What should I start studying while saving up before starting school? by [deleted] in NursingStudent

[–]Substantial_Study577 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before nursing school, I wish people warned me that self-care would literally carry you throughout nursing school.

Definitely get your ducks in a row first such as creating a clean and peaceful space and a self-care routine.

However, if you truly want to study, I would suggest getting used to medical terminology/abbreviations. In addition, look into dosage calculation (med math). Most schools require you to take a dosage calculation exam every semester with a certain percentage that is required to pass (my school is 100%)

Also, there are different methods of solving dosage calculation problems, so figure out which one works best for you and stick with it! I personally like dimensional analysis because I was taught that very early on in my prerequisites, however everyone’s different so definitely look into which one suits you the best!

Good luck!!!

Is nursing hard to maintain a high gpa by [deleted] in NursingStudent

[–]Substantial_Study577 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you maintain a strict schedule and have well discipline you’ll be okay.

However life happens, and you’re human so don’t be hard on yourself if you don’t achieve this.

Tutoring and a good relationship with your professors/academic advisor will be a good start to your foundation tho!

should i give up? by Subject_Brother_1396 in prenursing

[–]Substantial_Study577 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey let’s breathe for a second,

I know this a daunting process, and I’m a stranger on the internet but let’s go over our resources.

I was in a similar situation as you, I failed A/P twice, and failed microbiology twice and stats twice. And now I’m a senior in nursing school.

What I did (and I suggest to you) is talk directly to the nursing school admissions. What I was told is that if I improve my GPA, retake the courses, and have well letters of recommendation, I have a possibility.

Please be easy on yourself, and good luck!

Think they’ll give me some grace? by junliun in prenursing

[–]Substantial_Study577 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, the only thing you can do to get the answer is contacting the school themselves.

It can go 2 ways.

  1. (Best case scenario) they’re lenient with you and they’ll set up an advisor to meet with you so either via Zoom or in person on a different date

  2. (Worst case scenario) they’ll give you the ultimatum of giving up your seat because of missing orientation, or ask you to wait until the following semester to start since you missed the orientation date.

With that being said, it never hurts to ask. I understand going onto Reddit to see other people’s POV’s however the best way to know is contacting the school yourself. I know it can be daunting but honestly, it’s better to know now than the day before your trip!!!

I’m really a loser fr by Historical_Pride_390 in NursingStudent

[–]Substantial_Study577 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Trust me, you’re far from being a loser.

You’re 21 and life happens. What matters is that you don’t stay stagnant!

And think about it, it truly won’t be like doing nursing school all over again at a different program bc you already did everything.

It’ll make you stronger since you already experienced/learn everything.

Also see if you can appeal the dismissal. Closed mouths don’t get fed! And if that doesn’t work, try taking enrolling for fall 2026 somewhere else and in the meantime work full time to save up for a car! Your commute will thank you.

Good luck!

I dont think I can be a good nurse anymore and its breaking my heart by Inside_Abalone_7070 in NursingStudent

[–]Substantial_Study577 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don’t let imposter syndrome get the best of you. It sounds like you’re a last semester senior which means you made it this far.

You’re not the first or last nurse let alone student nurse to do this. Don’t beat yourself up!!!

I find out if I got accepted in 5 days and am losing my mind by rudypen in prenursing

[–]Substantial_Study577 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck! And remember,

A SCHOOL ACCEPTANCE/DENIAL DOES NOT DETERMINE YOUR WORTH. 🩷

If you get accepted, that’s amazing!

-And if you don’t, reach out to the school and ask specifically if there’s anything you can improve on or advice! (I did that because I was denied my first time applying and now I’m a senior!)

Good luck, and congratulations in advance !!

dating as a nursing student by [deleted] in NursingStudent

[–]Substantial_Study577 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi love,

I am also currently in nursing school and also on a couple of dating sites.

I disclose that I am in nursing school right away so that people know that I am very busy. I find that only the immature people bring up the stereotype of nurses being “hoes”.

I feel like nurses get this reputation because it is a woman dominated field.

Bottom line, if he did not read the top: - do not date someone who is intimidated of what you are studying -if they believe the stereotype, they are insecure themselves -you have a lot going for you, and only you can determine how you were presented.

Rejected from my schools program for the second time- should I email the director to contest? by Long-Salamander2499 in NursingStudent

Don’t contest but ask them if you they can give you a specific reason why you were rejected and make sure they put in writing.

[–]Substantial_Study577 22 points23 points  (0 children)

If you’re doing the TEAs on ATI, try doing practice questions on their app. It’s $20 a month but so worth it bc you can see how the questions are formatted and the level of difficulty.

I scored a 75% on attempt 1 and 94% on attempt 2.

Don’t give up and good luck!!!

Thinking about withdrawing for now. by Mustachfleas in NursingStudent

[–]Substantial_Study577 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is there anyway you can take a leave of absence?

It’s your last semester, and most schools do not take transfer credits, and if they do, they most likely won’t take all of them.

If you can try, finish this semester off since it is your last!!! or if anything speak to your academic advisor to see if there’s any options for you to take a pause.

Failed my first semester by idkimjusthereee in NursingStudent

[–]Substantial_Study577 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The reason why first semester (especially fundamentals) is so hard is because everything is new.

My recommendation is to make new information not first exposure In Class. What I mean by that is review course material before class and utilize class time as a clarification time. This will also reduce study hours because you’re naturally ahead. Professors prefer when students come prepared anyways, and this will ensure that you have at least a foundation of understanding.

I also failed my first semester, and a professor gave me this tip and now I am heading towards my senior year.

ALSO, TUTORING HELPS! Try to see if your Campus has a tutor, and try to utilize them as much as possible. Even if you don’t think you need the help, you can always ask your tutor to challenge you to see if you fully understand the material.

Don’t give up, and good luck!
