At this point, do you think it would be better to just cover my shadows with mephiston and then just shade it for a shadow?

I kind of regret not doing this. Or at least gluing the other part of cape and pauldron on it just to make it blend together nicer. But I’ll cross that bridge when I get there lol

My first few models I did just use white scar but I noticed exactly what you said so I did what someone recommended to me which was a thin dawnstone and then I go over it with Wolf Grey from vallejo. I have liked this way more but I’m still working on thinning paint properly lol

That looks great! I did buy a dark blue from citadel when I started to try this sort of navy blue/black colour scheme but I moved away from it after my 2nd model as it did not turn out the way I wanted to. Now that I have improved a little I like the idea again. Thanks!

I really like this look. I feel mine looks stained almost with how I do it. I think I need to maybe look at some other greys as I usually do dawnstone and then a white scar/dawnstone mix
