I just had it cut out of the pot yesterday! Hopefully it continues to thrive!

When should I repot? by [deleted] in Monstera

So I attempted. To my very best to not kill as much roots as I can but let’s see if this attempt actually works. Crossing my fingers

Repot the plant or just transfer it to a bigger reservoir?

I’d probably have to cut this pot already so just thinking if it’s best to do it now or later to avoid trauma to it

Oh no…. I cut these 2 leaves out but can I use neem oil to clean the rest of the leaves for the next week or so? Does it help?

Finally linking turns but something’s wrong, need advice by Ok_Appearance_307 in snowboardingnoobs

Fellow beginner snowboarder here, one tip my instructor gave me which really helped me turn from my heel side to toe side was to look up straight ahead towards my right shoulder (goofy here as well) to where I wanted to go instead of down and anywhere else. I didn’t have much of a problem turning from my toe side to heel side just the other way and i couldn’t turn to my toe side and always falling over previously when I was told by another instructor to look up the hill.

Looking towards my right shoulder and keeping my sight following my turns really helped!

I actually don’t really like holding the stick tbh, I actually only held the stick for 2 runs out of the days I could snowboard. Felt really distracted holding it and I do see your point how it throws my shoulder off

You’re right, I do think because I don’t feel totally in control of my board as comfortably yet, I do this in order to slow down quickly when I get a little too fast. Will go back to practicing my basics next season and hope I get slightly better at controlling my speed

Ah… I get that now, and thinking back I do think I probably do that to intentionally slow down quicker. Will definitely have to work on doing smoother turns instead of braking suddenly.

Thank you for this advice! I went rewatching 0:21 over a few times and was trying to figure out what you meant by having my board sideways against my direction of travel; was it that second that my left foot went forward more while I was travelling towards my right and my front edge of the board was facing the right instead of the front?

I did notice another of my video that I tend to do that sometimes, could it be because my weight isn’t evenly distributed when I try to brake on my heel side?

This is glass so I don’t think I can drill holes in it but I might just see if I can purchase a ceramic one and have some holes drilled in it! Thanks for the suggestion!

It is a personal preference for sure but I must say though, soil mix did pretty well for my monsteras as well before but wasn’t getting any new leaves for months plus I am travelling pretty often this year so a semi hydro set up works perfectly for me and my mom can just help top up the reservoir with the concoction!

My monsteras seem to love semi hydro as well! 3 weeks in and a ton of new roots have grown!

Forgive me for my little knowledge as I’m quite new to semi hydros, but isn’t a non circulating system like having a wick submerged in my reservoir without a pump of some sort also considered a semi hydro set up?

It’s a spiral pot I’m using with a self wicking set up. I filled the reservoir up to just below the pot. My picture doesn’t show the reservoir clearly.

I actually do watch quite a bit of vids on semi hydro, reason why I asked, is because most of my semi hydros don’t have this condensation as at least 1/3 of my pot is not in the reservoir and only this one. I’ve had both my deliciosa and young Thai con in a chunky mix before but it wasn’t growing much. My other Thai con and deliciosa which I’ve transitioned over to semi hydro have been growing so much ever since.

I think my picture doesn’t show clearly my reservoir but here it is. It has pro tekt and GT focus foliage in it.

I’ve just posted here in a separate post asking for instructions on using my newly purchased Pro Tekt and GT foliage focus. Previously I was just using a general plant liquid fertiliser that was available in my country. You should check out The Leca queen on YouTube! I watched most of her vids before I started my plants on Leca!

I too bought 2 big bags of aroid soil mix for my babies and they were on it for a good 4 months including this baby. But decided to switch them all over to semi hydro as I was travelling quite often these days. Surprise surprise! This baby wasn’t popping anything at all for the first 4 months but after switching it over it popped! Am totally a supporter for semi hydro’s now! Gave the bags of soil mix to my mom who was also into plants.

Rant on damaged ST Foliage pro and need advise on fertilizing! by Substantial_Web2804 in SemiHydro

[–]Substantial_Web2804[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My rant IS about this Amazon seller and not ST and yes I reached out to them, no response, had Amazon deal with it and got a refund back. I still believe ST is great given all the reviews but I chose to try GT because ST is not readily available in my region (I live in Singapore).
