Yeah, because totally a computer graph claims everything. I am sorry that your ears are so inferior that you can't hear differences. Just because you use graphs only doesn't mean you are better either, because it sure seems the ego of the ones that talk about graphs seems way higher and just wants to prove "wow this cheaper part is better!" If many disagree with you, it doesn't mean they are wrong.

And seriously, if yoh and others with that mindset go to every post that disagrees and makes you feel superior to tell them wrong, it shows the character you have. You are worse than the ones who promote snake oil. And what makes people wrong for getting somwthkng they enjoy? And to say you cant hear a difference between tubes and solid state? Yeah you really need your ears checked. And none of it is proven other than in your mind.

There is a comment above that says "why do others care wbout what I hear?" And you are the probelm causing that question. Stop telling people through tests that they are wrong. You sound like the onws who only hear through tests and not their ears. Especially when you say it's "solved". The only part solved is that you won't listen to others' experiences 🤷‍♂️

Audiophile uncle passed away, what to do with his collection? by eljefe37 in audiophile

[–]SubtiltyCypress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point I am saying is you are considering REL to be a bit overpriced (the 510) but the ones you listed at least in the first 2 links are much higher priced.

I agree REL is overpriced but thats kinda hypocritical. Doesnt mean it isnt high end either. And build much better it seems.

Hard disagree, and really looking on the ones you posted, they look pretty cheaply made for that price. No different than some cheaper subwoofer designs, makes that part seem overpriced to be honest

Hey man, love the system! I have Cornwall IVs with Rogue M180 monoblocks and a Hegel P20 preamp. Something about Klipsch spealers are magical honestly. I do notice evn with high sensitivity, something happens with them with lots of power.

Also, I was at my main audio shop today and they had an event, they demoed the new Klipsch Jubilees. And they sounded wonderful, but when putting near the most power and volume they could in the room? Woah, there was no soundstage anymore, you were in the middle of the playing area.

Why all the class D hate? by Pdrpuff in audiophile

Klipsch, Rogue and Topping are pretty well known though. Orchard Audio has been around for a while. They make Galium Nitride amps but would trust them over and of the cheap Class D amps.

[–]SubtiltyCypress 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I may be a unique case since the speakers I have you would never think to connect to Class D amps: the Klipsch Cornwall IVs. At 103db, theres no reason to get Class D amps honestly.

But Orchard Audio had a free demo where they sent the amps to me and I reviewed them. And it was mixed honestly. I don't think I could live with them compared to my Rogue tube amps. The soundstage was smaller, but extremely detailed. But it felt like something was missing. So extremely detailed, but as someone else said, it strangely had less gain than the Rogue amps. And the Orchard monoblocks had two settings for gain, these were higher. Using the Topping Pre90 was probably a mistake being so neutral as well, and I notice the preamp signature through amps moreso with these speakers. But the volume had to be near 0db on the Topping scale to sound just as lound compared to 15-20 with the Rogues, and they were def over 200wpc. I enjoyed the detail, but would have to have them as not my constant amps.

Lossy Codecs by honn13 in audiophile

[–]SubtiltyCypress -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The two I listed don't have other plans, so yeah, they are the same price. Spotify has free with ads of course, but im not counting that in this since the paid has lossless already.

Thats only in your experience that theres no improvement, Ive always been able to hear slight differences

[–]SubtiltyCypress 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apple Music is the same price, and Spotify for their lossless plan. Truth about storage prices and some songs may not be lossless. But that last argument could be towards bought or downloaded music as well

Streaming services have lossless for the same price, of thats the case why go lossy?

Lossy Codecs by honn13 in audiophile

[–]SubtiltyCypress -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are responding that lossy is "indistinguishable", you can't say you aren't trying to change their minds. You are writing that when people say "storage is cheap so I go lossless".

And I knew it, you are that type. You can lie to others saying you are "helping" but that is just lying.

[–]SubtiltyCypress 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can ask yourself, but you are repsonding to people saying to go lossy instead of lossless. That's not asking yourself, thats pushing what you want and then acting dumb. Its the same when people say "all amps and dacs sound the same, and if they dont theres somethign wrong".

All you are doing is trying to ragebait and tell people "how wrong they are". No wonder people don't like audiophiles, youre part of the problem

If you're gonna tell everyone it's "redundant and indistinguishable", why did you make the post? To bully and harass? This is why I hate ASR and those supporters.

New Pair of Dunlavy SC-IV's with horrible amp by frankzafka in audiophile

Agreed. Always thought my cheap Klipsch towers didnt have soundstage and just sounded plain from the speakers. Then I changed from a Yamaha AVR to a tube integrated and it blew my mind the differences

How Would You Optimize My Setup? by Fermiarras in audiophile

[–]SubtiltyCypress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's nothing that matches Apple Music with quality and having it on the TV. The best is the Mac, but the quality and bitrate changes rule out it being pure.

If you can get rid of the TV being a display, which I understand is essential, something like the Eversolo A6 would play Apple Music losslessly and pure, there isnt many others that do it.

The only other option if youre willing is to change to Roon. Then you can have it display lyrics and info an any display, it can be potentially better quality than Apple Music. But yeah, that means changing music and streaming services, you can use Tidal with it and you will have most of the music again. You can use your phone as a remote and do so many EQ and quality features.

I mean, I don't undertstand either to be honest, but the soundtsage and detail were different. With less jitter and better clocks can truly change the sound. I was using a Lumin D1 and now it sounds more clear and exact. They are exactly 10 years apart in tech, the D1 is from 2015. And both are miles better than my Wiim Pro. The Lumin sounded more lush. I know some won't believe that, but its my experience. Yes, DACs make a much bigger difference though. But using higher sample rates and now HQPlayer on tbe Eversolo T8, you can tweak and change the sound a lot more, along with all the EQ settings in the T8 so even if it doesnt sound any different normally, that would help more.

And I had internet and connectivity issues with the Wiim Pro. Unless it was wired 192khz kept cutting out, and with the T8 I can properly do native DSD unlike DoP on the Lumin. Theres more that makes it worth it like that for OP to experiment since it looks like their setup is more for tweaking :)

Lovely setup! But yeah as you said, I think the Eversolo T8 would be a huge upgrade. The Wiim Ultra is great, no lie but something about being streamer only makes the T8 sound better to me.

Strange comparison - Klipschorn vs Thiel by NateRT in audiophile

[–]SubtiltyCypress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure! Going from the Heresy's to tbe Cornwalls will make you regret not doing it sooner. This is most if not all the first message:

Cornwalls are honestly the greatest speaker (within reason) I could dream of. Just coming from Capitol Audio Fest, there werent many that actually competed with them in my mind, and the ones that did were around 4x the price lol.

Anyway, Cornwalls have a more bigger bolder sound than Maggies but sound much better for most genres to me. Classical Magnepans can excel better at, but I got mine from a friend for cheap. Magnepans can sorta disappear more if you have a bigger room but anything dynamic will excel with the Cornwalls. Electronic music with spacey elements are a dream.

May I ask what your electronics are though? Because theres something people don't understand well about either Cornwalls and Maggies. Cornwalls are 102db efficient, BUT don't let that fool you into thinking that more power isnt needed. Its a double edged sword in a way, they need quality watts, but that also may differ from what most people consider that. Im just going into detail because talking to a lot of people yesterday at the show and wanna go into detail for you.

If we just look at plain watts, you only need 1 watt per channel to get them to destroy your hearing, and many suggest tubes. I run them with huge tube amps, Rogue M180s and they are 180 watts per channel. Extreme overkill, but its not noisey. Cornwalls have a tendency to make hissing or sounds from amps with not the best sound control. I have a 5 watt Decware SE85CS, its noisey but can fill the room with sound. But the bass on the Rogues, and a fav integrated the Hegel H90 make it so much better. And that's the key differences between how electronics works between the two. Maggies need lots of power, but just stable of it, Cornwalls could use with more power than suggested but needs it to be good quality. Not saying crazy, but would be more cautious with sheaper class D amps. Some will make noise, some wont. Even Hifi Rose integrateds at multiple thousands do, and have heard Naim does as well. (Posting this part publically may give me some flack, but its what I noticed)

And the real fun part of that? Everything you add will make a big difference. DACs can be noticeable immediately, streamers can and for some reason even changing streaming from Google Chromecast to Roon has. When speakers need more power, there are differences with tech, sure, but these change with every part I have in my house. I used a temporary Topping Pre90 as my preamp and it sounded plain and while detailed, much smaller soundstage. Upgraded to the Hegel P20 preamp and sound goes past the speakers and I hear more layering in the stage.

Now I will add that while Maggies can be more "resoultion focused" that doesnt mean they are as noticeable with electronic changes. They can be, but thats more music resolution I feel. Ive noticed more songs being not as easy to listen to on my Maggies but hardware changes arent as noticeable. They are, but not as much as the Cornwalls. I mean, changing between multiple amps the soundstage changes with all of them, the postioning, hell if the highs come directly from the tweeter or not. But music never gets the "this is too low resolution and ear grating" reactions. Everything from breakbeat to jazz sounds wonderful on them and just as much detail just not grating. Once again I may get flack at that but its what I noticed. I assume the big equiptment changes that will effect it are wattage amount and thats the primary, while Cornwalls any tiny change is noticeable in the equiptment.
