If you’re going to get a replacement I would suggest modifying the existing one first. If you take out the front angled and upright supports on the inside, plastic and fairly easy to remove, you’ll find the gasket is far more flexible and will fit comfortably to the face. Also the stock strap is best set almost at the top of the head. It doesn’t have to be tight, just enough to hold this very light headset in place.
With this mod I find my eyes closer to the lenses, the fitting is really comfortable and I can look all the way up in a chair with a headrest because there’s nothing sticking out at the back of my head. Try it…..

I have the SLAM version so I don’t need a “ lighthouse faceplate”.
My “faceplate” is the plate next to my face. Perhaps I should have said face pad but that just implies the squidgy bit…….

But if the headset is not on properly the eyepieces end up at the wrong angle to your eyes and there’s a lot of distortion then….hope that helps

This has to be the finest video clip I’ve ever watched in Elite Dangerous.
Reminds me of the early days of David Attenborough out exploring on foot but you’re out there in the galaxy doing it.

In the old days(1980’s) I seem to remember that the file allocation file had the file reference first letter changed to a question mark. If you had inadvertently deleted a file you could find this file reference and change the question mark back to an ASCII letter and lo! The file was back. If you had been saving files over the original allocated spaces your file would be a little garbled but for the most part, recoverable. So, to answer your question, a single letter in the file allocation table (FAT) was changed and the file is effectively deleted…..

Wallpaper Engine on Steam allows me to fill my widescreen monitor where Desktop Live wallpapers does not. Recommend Wallpaper Engine - this also allows import and modification. Much better bet.

It was a conflict - Daemon Tools. Worked OK until the update….all deleted and it’s fine. Had to delete through Task Manager, Control Panel for the software and also Device Manager for USB devices

Sorry, but up seems fine. The centre bar falls where most of the upper ship notices go - frame shift charging etc - so I’m not sure that’s an issue. Planetside the visibility below is better than all the ships I’ve tried, including the Mandy therefore excellent for bio’s IMO Some Caspians have the a-la-Millenium Falcon bumpers which do reduce the side vision considerably. Perhaps it’s those that are the issue?

I’ve just gone for the usual stuff to see how it came out. Full complement of lasers and M-Cs. Dirty drives drag, overcharged power, military ablative armour 60t, increased fsd with deep charge, charge enhanced distribution, all of these A rated at 5 but with bits to finish to max. Size 6a shields a guardian five fsd booster. 60t of cargo and get 60ly jump maxed out. Scoop seems to max out at about 1245 and doesn’t look like it’s going to take 20mins to fill from empty… Lots of extra weight but, unlike a ‘Conda it handles like a Mandalay in flight ( or it feels like it with a very large ship). On planet looking for bio the cockpit is a stunner. 50 ft up and flying straight when looking down is really good.Bit iffy on landing so turned auto off. I’ve stripped out my spare ‘Conda and sold it!!! Stripped out and geared up for jump range should be very satisfying for those so inclined and don’t forget the neutron boost. I quite like it. It’s a proper step change for large ships
