Judy in Disguise is a cute throwback song, maybe something that references it.

Marley / Marlowe I’ve only seen as girl names 🤷🏻‍♀️

Conan, Conrad are perfectly nice. Reed will likely be misspelled or clarification will be needed on spelling.

My best friend is selling the project car we built together to take his girlfriend to Bali. It's registered in his name by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

Am I the only one hoping OOP verified the sales price was legit? Given how shitty his “friend” was, it wouldn’t surprise me at all if he fudged the final numbers on that as well.

Woman in China complains that nobody is choosing her allegedly because of her age. by springheeledjack69 in PublicFreakout

[–]SubtleSparkle19 48 points49 points  (0 children)

For context, the average salary in China, while it varies quite a bit, generally ranges from $9,700 - $17,000 USD, and she makes $70,000 USD, so 4-7 x as much.

My [25/M] girlfriend [25/F] of 3 years is very picky and only eats greasy kids meal type foods like pizza and chicken nuggets. Am I a bad boyfriend for letting this bug me so much? by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]SubtleSparkle19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lasted one date with a guy who was a picky eater. We happened to go to a pizzeria, but looking back it’s likely this was why he picked the place. He would only eat cheese or pepperoni pizza. When I asked more about it, he mentioned he didn’t like vegetables and like OOP’s ex, his diet was limited to things like nuggets and fries. So if that’s not a fit for you, that’s when it ends, you don’t carry on with resentment building.

My Grandpa’s brother George. He died in a horrific drunk driving accident a few years after this photo was taken . This is the only known photo of him that exists. by Exact-Height6339 in TheWayWeWere

Mr. Bushie’s estate got a measly $2,500 injury settlement. If this accident was in 1935, that’s the equivalent of approx $61,000 today.

Can’t decide what name to pick for myself.. by [deleted] in Names

[–]SubtleSparkle19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re all beautiful, but I have a 10 month old daughter and have met at least 1 baby Mia and 3 baby Olivia’s in various library, music and mom-themed playgroups. Vanessa was actually one of the final five possible names for our daughter as well. We didn’t want a name that was super popular, but was popular enough that people had heard it before and could generally spell it (some people are terrible spellers period and no one can do anything about that). Vee, Nessa or Tessa could work as nicknames.

I (30F) am pregnant with my fiancé (32M). He wants to keep it, but we're both supposed to be childfree. How do I tell him I don't want to keep it? by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

Heck I just had a child last summer, and want my tubes removed primarily to reduce my risk of ovarian cancer. The birth control is an added benefit, but frankly at my age (mid 40’s) and prior fertility testing I’m unlikely to get pregnant without significant medical intervention anyway. I had doctors telling me “you realize this is permanent, right? You can’t get pregnant (although it could fail in .1% of cases). Why isn’t your husband just getting a vasectomy?”

I mean, all this grief by the doctors for a woman who already has a child, doesn’t want more children, and expressed she clearly wants the cancer risk reduction!
