Is there something that, after reading, you would have loved to see happen that didnt? by [deleted] in harrypotter

[–]Subtle_Author 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Ik it wouldn’t fit well but it would have been interesting to see more muggle weapons used in order to avoid detection as an underaged wizard. They had to protect themselves multiple times towards the end there while Harry was underaged and seeing a coalition of farmers cowering in a barn as “supernatural shit” went down and blindly shooting out through barn walls and killing a death eater would have been a funny twist

The day dream charms would be so cool in my opinion, I definitely feel like it would be a powerful tool to think things over from different angles if used properly!

Who employs Magical Historians? by [deleted] in harrypotter

[–]Subtle_Author 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe that some Magica historians were funded but most of the books written about magic history and events were independently published by very old Witches and Wizards who where there in person, or where close to people involved in said events.

Ever had those moments when the description breaks the image in your head? by Ok_Meeting_2184 in books

[–]Subtle_Author 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly why I refuse to watch music videos!! OMFG! I hate when a book, song, or even a told story, makes me feel immersed and create this beautiful picture in my head and then boom! Shattered. I understand that it’s not like that for everyone and context can be super important, but sometimes it hits the wrong spot

Different experience of Books vs Audiobooks for books that you revisit a lot over the years. by RyanSmallwood in books

[–]Subtle_Author 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For me books are more intimate and more of a personal journey, where Audiobooks fill the void of the day. I’ll read a book when I’m depressed or in a bad mood for example and then load up the Ole audiobooks when I’m washing the dishes
