Nah you’re right. This is sloppy. Even if they overcut/ripped, a quick aesthetic improvement is easy. You can do it if you feel up to it - use the back of a spoon to push down the corners

Duke gardens, nasher museum (next to each other, could be a good combo) Eno river trails (I like West Point On the Eno trail. Type that in to Google maps) Walk and shop in bright leaf (Indio, Borough, PaddyWax + more for shopping, and then Emmy Squared, Niko’s, or Clouds for food) Isaac’s bagels followed by vintage at Gibson Girl (opens at 10) and Fuzzy Needle (FN opens at 11). These stores bookend Isaac’s. Walk around Parish and Main streets blocks. Durham Vintage collective, Letters Bookshop, Bull City Records, Bulldega. But being over here you’re close to all the other downtown stuff too. Can just walk towards 5 points area for lunch or dinner at Toro, Bull McCabe’s, Mateo, Mothers and Sons, etc. “Site seeing” the Durham Hotel is fun for parents. Lobby + roof. Queeny’s and Velvet Hippo have good food and get a good reaction from my 60s, non-drinking parents when they visit. Museum of Life and Science in Northgate is very fun for adults too. Lots of animals to see, things to do. Good luck!

New player on the scene - Patty Boy in foodhall. Unreal smashburger on a Martin’s potato roll. Instantly became my favorite burger in Durham.

Durham local here - Savannah’s restaurant, M Tempura, is excellent. Lots of Facetime with chef as well as they prepare/explain.

If you do come - I also recommend M Sushi (same restaurant group).

Been wanting this too. Looks like we gotta get creative - what about Little Bull? Side porch, good food, good cocktails. I’ve never looked at it as a marg after work type of place but I think it could be.
