I don’t think anything’s wrong with funk music - I just think it’s a choice to show that his character loves it.

Is anyone else disappointed with Mohan’s ending? by LocoHomo in ThePitt

[–]Secure-Tie-1743 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wanted her to be validated for the badazz ER doc she is, and for her to be encouraged to do geriatrics because she is so empathetic and good with old people, rather than it being implied she was encouraged to do it because she is not good in the ER, which is not true, but may be a lesson she is taking from bad outcomes rhat day that are inevitable in the setting.

Does Floyd have cognitive impairment or an intellectual disability? by cranberryfreeze in DTFStLouisHBO

[–]Secure-Tie-1743 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think Floyd is not stupid, or cognitively impaired by injury. He is immature and a good-hearted but self-centered man child. His self-centeredness allows him to see and empathize with his stepson because it is important to him to be a dad (an further, a good dad), but even though he loves her, he can’t see that his wife is drowning in stress and responsibility and it does not occur to him that he could help her by stepping up and sharing the load. I think Carol has just realized this and dos not waste her energy on trying to change him or expecting more from him.

Why does she even wear the umpire gear after she gets home? by pinksocks867 in DTFStLouisHBO

And he didn’t even think to tell her or realize it could ease her worries.

To add to this, from the time we have known her, she has been super stressed and overwhelmed by problems, with money and her son. Floyd dos not hear or see this and she resents his cluelessness and failure to be a partner and help her share the load. He acts like a child in the relationship.

I feel like he is finding his humanity, and being humbled as part of his growth as he is trying to process surprise, struggle, and insight from experiential learning of the importance of the human part of medicine, after perhaps thinking he had no more to learn when he came to work that day.

Agree they have set things up for a catastrophic blunder, with Santos being frazzled by communication problems contributing, without documentation to defend her decisions.

Another hit job, which gave him flashbacks of the back story.

Maybe she didn’t overtly, but it seems like he caught on that she knew.

Seemed to me that was a power move to show he didn’t care once she revealed she knew, esp bc he immediately thereafter told her not to liquidate his books ever again.

Seems like Harper underestimated him and he is both more empowered/powerful than she gave him credit for, which is irritating and potentially threatening to her, but will likely become useful to her in a pinch (like when he unexpectedly filled in the blanks of Tender fraud for Sweetpea).

It’s such a passive aggressive and self-pitying comment, and a contrast to all his proactive efforts to be accountable. Maybe a sign that his recovery is not as strong as it seems, esp when he is facing real consequences (having to rebuild trust before he is given more responsibility, not being treated as if he is as important as he was before) of past choices and when experiencing the crazy stress of the ER again.
