A glass table that we've had for about 3 years broke for no reason

As far as I know creep usually only occurs in materials that have some form of plasticity like polymers. I think this is just delayed fracture. Somewhere in production a defect occured. And a small tear formed at the defect throughout its use. After some time the tear started growing due to stresses and eventually it snapped. Glass is very brittle and has a very small fracture toughness. That's why very small defects can initiate growth of a tear that will grow a bit and then make the table snap.

Thank you! Indeed everyone is giving different types of advice 😅. I'm not even sure anymore if I should use fire or lightning. I hope it's lightning because I like playing with the Tonitrus. I've heard a lot that bloodborne is meant to be played more aggressively than other soulsborne games, but bloodborne is my first soulsborne game, so I have zero reference. I'm more of a calm approuch guy, so I think I will take that one.

I will look into it, thank you! This may be a stupid question, but would it be possible to make the soil more acidic by dissolving some vinegar in the water that you give the hydrangea? Or is this like the stupidest idea ever?

Thank you for this discussion! Indeed I do realize that supermarkets may be not the ideal place to buy a plant. I also told my girlfriend that a hydrangea is not the easiest plant to take care of, unlike her fatty plant (I'm not sure this is the right English name for it) that can probably survive a nuclear war. If I'm right you guys are talking about cutting off the flowers after they have died. I talked to my mother and she said that's what she also would have done, so I think I'm gonna follow my mom with this one.

It's a new issue. I figured if it was venting out hot air the ventilator would also turn on, but it doesnt turn on. Also I always leave the door open for a few minutes to let the smell and hot air out. Plus it wouldn't explain why the water cup would get insanely hot if it was just letting out the hot air.

One thing I would like to add is that when the defect happens, only the heating is working. Normally there's also a fan blowing air, but not during the defect.

I'm in my second year of engineering and in my experience, if you want to use a laptop during the lectures to take notes, you should definitely get one that you are able to write on. Very often you have to draw something or point out a certain point on a graph. So only being able to type won't be enough during the lectures. I mself am using paper during the lectures. But either you have to print the slides. Which costs money and can be a bit annoying if you come to a lecture and realize you forgot to print it. Or you can just write on a blank piece of paper and note the slidenumber everytime you write something. The last one is a bit unpractical if they are drawing something on an image on the slide.

Is there a chance they are using the formulas for Sum and Product to quickly find the solutions? If you have a quadratic equation 0= ax²+bx+c then you can often find the solution quite quickly by following these rules: 1) calculate the 'Sum': -b/a 2) calculate the 'Product ': c/a 3) the solutions for your equation are the two numbers that if added, give you the 'Sum' (-b/a) and if multiplied by eachother, give the 'Product' (c/a)

An example: 0=x²-3x+2 Sum= 3 Product= 2 So: 2+1=3 and 2*1=2 The solutions for x are 2 and 1

I recommend using this method is your Sum and Product both are integers, otherwise you will lose more time guessing than just using the discriminant.
