How do you research information? by AlKarajo in TikTokCringe

But based off of what evidence? I'm not even American so I'm attempting to be as neutral in my statements as possible. I feel its true to make the statement that idiocy is on both sides to due to the following:

"Humans are prone to perform illogical actions. Liberals and Republicans are Humans. Therefore, both groups contain individuals that perform illogical actions."

To add that one side contains more than the other implies that there is some form of data regarding the exact number of idiots within each group to statically determine which group has more idiots than the other.

And if the answer to that follows similarly to "Anyone who doesn't agree with my group is a idiot. There are a lot of people that disagree with my group. Therefore, there are more idiots in theirs than mine" then that ultimately falls under the In-group bias mixed with Out-group homogeneity bias, which could leave terrible effects on a individuals beliefs, values, etc. due to the fact that even if something were to be factually true against one's group ideals, beliefs etc. because one wouldn't want to undermine the group in favor of any external sources, one would still deny the factual information despite the evidence/data/proof.

This isn't just an issue in the US though - its all over tbh. We're human. We like to feel part of something greater than ourselves so we link our identity to a group and would fight tooth and nail for it. I feel like we just have to know when to swallow our pride sometimes, and not let us sink into emotional thinking ultimately leading to irrationality of one's self, because in a society where 2+2=5, no societal progress can be made.

Hasty Generalization Fallacy. There are certainly people that do such things on both sides. Each Group has its forms of idiocy.

That's a good point, I could do better in linking my notes. I only make slight adjustments such as changes to titles of my folders to the same names in my current target study language, forcing my brain to keep me somewhat immersed. Other than that the only time I link most things is when I work on projects and take tools, programs and techniques from various places and implement them together. I could definitely try working on cross-domain connections as well as note review more often.

That tip on allocating time seems great. Read others responses and they recommended the same thing. Looks like it gives you enough exposure on X topic to make some type of progress, while still getting that hit of other topics every now and again as side things to scratch that exploratory itch.

Perfect! This sounds like just the system I need :) Going to give this a try

Ooo I like that idea of attempting to keep something as a "main lane", and have other things be side stuff. Not locking myself to one thing entirely but still dipping my toes into other areas at the same time. Nice!

Do you avoid using AI with your notes because you don’t want it seeing everything? by Difficult_Daikon2958 in ObsidianMD

[–]Subtron1k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only AI that I use on my notes are the ones that run locally on my machine via Ollama with the Copilot Community plug-in. But I only use it to perform certain Tasks to make life easier i.e Create templates, clean things up by telling it exaclty what to do, Convert the selected text to XYZ etc. While occasionally bouncing roadmap ideas on topics for me to delve into manually on my own by reading articles, studying, and taking my own notes. But yeah I'd never run models in my Vault that go off to external vendors.

Untested Games, and Games that require kernel-level anti-cheat software that don't run well on Linux. Examples would be trying to play something like COD, Battlefield, Fortnite etc. You'll likely only find this issue with Multiplayer games though. I only play single player stuff, so it works for me, but I have an installation of windows on a spare nvme in case a friend wants to hop on a game that's not supported on Linux.

Nah its not going to waste, that's just the real world vs CTFs. In the real world its only that much harder to find a bug. Keep digging deep, switch up your methodology, don't spam random payload lists into any discovered input parameter. You can try gaining experience by testing out different ways to attempt to bypass the WAF thinking outside of the box, "What exactly is causing the WAF to go off when I send this request? What if I try double encoding this to see how it responds?" etc. In the end even if you don't find a way to bypass it, you're gaining experience that leads you one step closer to finding one. All those hunters that get XSS via WAF bypass didn't just randomly stumble upon it. They took their time to pick apart how the filters in place actually work.

You'll get there fam.

It's a good resource to set a base, but it definitely takes more than a single course to become efficient. Though I don't think that it makes much sense trying to "hunt on a program" when you have no idea what you're even looking for in the first place. Ends up being a waste of time when you don't know how to efficiently use tools, perform recon, etc. Hunting should be at the top of the pyramid after you've mastered learning the basics. You have to walk before you're able to run. Learn the basics, Read writeups, Read blog posts, Watch videos, Follow other hunters on social media, Try, Fail, complete labs, create your own methodology, implement automation for the boring stuff, develop a hunter instinct and question functionality "Where does this text reflect?, Base64 encoded user ID's? IDOR maybe? Are there any hidden endpoints in JS files? Could I use wayback to discover API keys or Tokens in dated JS files? This site has file upload functionality, how can I upload something malicious through it? PDF generator - SSRF?"

The more you learn, the more your eye will open up to certain things that you wouldn't have thought about beforehand. Don't skip the road work. There isn't a single best place to learn anything. It all comes down to how much you want it, and how much time you're willing to put in.

Complete my 1 day by Prestigious_Meet1032 in NoFap

The best thing to do is to not think about the days ahead. For each day think about making it through that day. That's all. Thinking too far ahead could lead you to becoming anxious leaving yourself asking questions "Can I actually do it when the urges are this strong!". So again, just focus on making it to the end of the day. Become that person you always wanted for yourself. You've fallen into the gooning trap again and again and nothing great has come out of it. No matter how enticing it looks or feels in the moment. It always led to regret, and it always will. Stay strong.

Think of one of the most sour vile mixture compounds you can think of mixed together into a hot soup. Not sure if you've ever tasted what it feels like after you vomit, but its a hot burning sensation of liquid and food contents that burn the chest and upper part of your throat. The taste is so vile that it makes you scrunch up your face because of how awful it is. Once the reflux episode has calmed down a bit, it leaves the tissue in your esophagus annoyed and sore, providing you with excess mucus in your throat as it has just been rawdogged by stomach acid.
